No, I don't think it is a good idea to cutting a hole on the dome, C7 is right, make sure that the rubber ring slide to the end of the cover glass, otherwise the LED light will get into the lens that will make the glare and fog, the last way is to remove the dome cover, good luck to you

first you should tell the size of your farm ,then can get useful suggestions, generally speaking, if the surveillance size is not so big, we suggest wired solutions, that mean use wired weatherproof camera and DVR connected by wires, because this method is a frugal way, if adopt IP solution ,the investment will be a little higher. If you have not found satisfied solution ,PM me, we will happy to help

use vari-focal zoom camera is a good idea, make sure that there is a person in the surveillance room can operate
