They claim to give you a sample camera to qualified dealers for the skeptical. I never heard of them ,but they have a couple of full page ads in one publication.

I asked in the past, a similar question. Time has past and now the client is back in the picrure and needs to know the following for the WJ-HD316A/500 16 Channel Digital Recorder, 500GB "Does the manufacturer support web browser access on a Mac? The device itself seems fine. There is no way to contact Apple to ascertain the answer to this. The simplest way would be to get a test account to access through my computer. Can this be arranged? Before I commit to a large capital outlay for this project, I need to know I will have remote access." Does any know if this DVR will work for MAC and woll he ba able to have remote access?

I cut the cord on a plug and play camera. Can they be easily spliced together and still work? The yellow video and the red power plugs. These appear to be vey delicate and tiny wires.

Instead of a monitor can you use a regular TV with a DVR and still use the TV?
-
I figured it out thanks for the advise. However trying to use any of the functions would not work on the main monitor output. I had to put it on the spot monitor output on the DVR. Is this common for TV,s somthing about analog? It worked on the Main Monitor, but I could not use any of the functions, like the menue. When I put it on the spot monitor output it worked.

I need to be able to do this. DVR needs to be accessible via Unix / Mac with a GUI based interface. Is this possible, if so how?
-
DVR needs to be accessible via Unix / Mac with a GUI based interface. Dedicated Micros says this. Images are viewed remotely using Dedicated Micros FREE network viewer software, or via a standard Internet browser. Mac and Linux users can access the unit via web pages using Netscape 4.78 browsers. Using the included network viewer software, recordings can be downloaded as industry standard JPEG images or AVI movies for review So does this mean that it will work?

Ok, so lets say it does work, Which DVR would be best? I quoted the client for the Panasonic WJ-HD316A500 16 channel DVR. I will also have 2 PTZ cameras on this system. If this does not work, what should I do?

Anybody recomend a good DVR that a my client can put in several different resturaunts. He will want to view his resturaunts from his home.

Most of the details wont be known until friday. I'm guessing that it will be a 9 or 16 channel DVR,and he wants to able view them from home. I need to present him with a couple of different options on Friday. I know I only gave limited info, just hoping for a couple of suggestions. More than likely I will need 12-13 DVR's.
