How can I upgrade from Geovision version 6.1.1.0, usb dongle
cam2 replied to squale's topic in Geovision
I would wait a month or so until ver 8.00 is out, then it should be raining dongles. -
Would hate to be the ballboy

Central , Orlando but can drive anywhere. Might be a idea to bring one of your 16 channel dvr's too.

looking for 1 or 2 quality domes with external housings. Pelco spectra 3 , Lilin or similar, to work with Geovision. Day/night preferred, new or used. In UK so PAL is a must. Thanks

Off to FL in 5 weeks, so if anyone wants a beer on me , bring a speed dome along
-
Yes, as soon as it moves it will go. You can bring it back up in setup of course.

I had a good look round here for you http://www.videohelp.com/ It lists every format FREE apart from what YOU NEED. Anyway its $30 here http://www.video-converter.net/ so if he's getting $20,000 for the case ask him for the $30

Thanks for that, they seem to only work a 1 lux so i see what you mean by not good on the dark. Even if they are second hand pulled from a job, i need them for a project.

Is the dsp out ( in ver8.0)on the combo cards going to be the same as vga out on the pc.ie full gui instead of just the camera's?
-
Pelco spectra 3 is very good, cheap ones off ebay are just that, cheap. BTW who is the supplier? I still cant get it to add up to £450 unless they are delivering it in a limo What ptz is it?
-
Thanks Monster, think i'll get one.
-
I saw these on fleabay, what they like?

Ive just been down this road the gv net works fine with either a ptz or a i/o box, just not at the same time . the issue is the com port, only being one. If you have 2 com ports use two gv net cards, they are only £15 and the hub is £80, so wheres the £450 come from? can you provide a link to the ljd dome?
-
Hi, they each need their own com port (PTZ & i/o box) to be able to communicate. Most pc's have only one com port so the gv hub enables this and gives you 4 com or rs 485 comms. These have to be assigned in setup and is really easy when you use the gv hub. You can fit an extra com port to the pc by using a pci card although you will still need 2 gv net cards to covert the com into rs485. Buy a hub and get a credit on your gv net

How to setup GeoVision for Remote View using Dynamic IP
cam2 replied to radigital's topic in Geovision
I have pm'd radigital and offered to help. I know what its like when your starting out, the manual is easy AFTER you know the basics. This technology hasn't been around that long so i guess we all had to start not too long ago -
KrCCTV, you are correct. Works a treat

Too right! They are already skating on thin ice with the older cards not accepting the software.
