  1. Good try.... WMM is only for XP. We are currently running Win2000 Pro.
  2. There has been an update to the original thread I posted relating to this whole issue: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1829
  3. Per the boss, I have to find a DVR card that will run in the Dell Optiplex GX150, P3, 1 Ghz, 256-512 RAM, Standard Dell Video. Any suggestions? Doesn't matter if it is slow or choppy, it just has to work (with 10-16 cameras) in this box. My guess is we will have to go to a 30fps (total) card or something of that nature.
  4. There has been an interesting twist in this saga... GeoVision support emailed me and asked for copies of the files that were not displaying properly. So, I hooked the machine up and went hunting for those files. When I found them, I surprised to find that they opened up in Windows Media Player and played fine....well almost. They were UPSIDE DOWN!!! Otherwise, however, the video looked great! So, I have to wonder if there is just a corrupted file of some kind in the GeoVision software. Does anyone know of a way to flip a Windows Media File upside down (and turning the computer upside down is not an option, ) Thanks.
  5. Well, the problem is that they bought a handful of these PC's last summer (or sometime). My PC that I work on every day is the exact same type of computer. There are quite a few others throughout the office that I suspect are also exactly the same.
  6. Life goes on...It is his surveillance system and his brother's money.
  7. First, I did incorrectly stat the speed of the processor. It is 1 Ghz, not 1 Mhz. In the test run we initially had 4 cameras installed and they viewed just fine. I did not take a look a the amount of CPU being used. The software was GeoVision 6.1.1 (and I realize what everyone is talking about now with the blinking eyes). I am fairly confident that what has been suggested here is correct that the video card setup is simply insufficient. However, as I think I stated in my initial post, this machine only has room for one expansion card, so if we upgrade the video, no DVR card. Thanks for all your help. Hope those of you in Las Vegas are having a good time.

    DVMR-8CD and high res recording

From Intellicam support (4/4/2005), in response to several questions I asked about the 16 channel version of this player: -Our DVMR machines do not utilize DVR cards. These are not PC based systems. They are true stand alone systems that operate on a proprietary RTOS. -Sir, we are not your run-of-the-mill fly-by-night PC shop selling DVRs. We are a very successful US distributor of professional security products. We will be around for a very, very long time. If at any time there is a bug fix for the units we will send out a firmware upgrade at your request if required. -The DVR itself comes with client software that allows for remote live viewing and playback only via the Internet. There is an additional module that we have developed solely for this product that allows complete control and viewing as if you were standing at the machine itself. It is accessible through Internet Explorer with no client software and also supports free, full dynamic IP. -There is a 300 cell grid that you can mask off or on per camera. -There is either schedule record, motion record, alarm record, or 24/7 -The type of record mode is for ALL cameras and cannot be configured per camera.

    DVMR-8CD and high res recording

Where can I find a 16-channel version of this DVR. I would like to see the cost of one since you describe the 8-channel as "cheap, but stable." Thanks

    The very best DVR card

Whether a card is a genuine card from a certified distributor as opposed the clones and knockoffs that have been discussed here. My boss and I have talked it over and we are willing to pay for the "real deal" even if costs an extra couple of hundred dollars per card. We are wanting what is the best situation for the long term. Thanks, Dan

    The very best DVR card

I haven't seen too much comment in this thread about Digiflower cards and software. Specifically is any familiar with the DF-2000 card? Dan Fontenot
