I am looking for a couple of indoor dome type cams for my front and back porches (enclosed). I want to spend about $100. Dome type, 1/3", Vari-focal, Sony Color DSP CCD, 12V DC. Lens needs to cover about 10 feet to door (3.6mm lens prolly do it) @480TV Lines. Maybe this one...cheap too. http://www.apeccctv.com/apecdirect/products/22C5N02X.htm Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sanyo, Panasonic, Samsung are all solid Slo-record VCRs.
-
Yes, if subcontracted, make sure you put a stipulation in contract that all fibre must be tested upon completion of all runs-with your approval. One little nic/crack in that glass and you're in that creek w/o a paddle.
-
Sanyo's are very good and can't be beat, for the price. We install many of these also. Like rory, I'm not found of the old "RCA Victor" color. I'll take one over a PC based, anyday. i3dvr, your standalones look like Vitek/Nuvico?

Sounds like a nice gig, congrats. The cards in the head end held 32 cams a drawer (4U). There were 7 full racks for all equipment. Fiber was terminated in a termination box, then ran fibre jumpers to the translators (so there isn't a big mess in Rack). They were then translated to copper and into your usual (preferred) CCTV setup rig. In the Field, ran fiber to a center point (Fiber Term Box) for each block of cams, then put translators there, ran copper to cams…easy? Oh yea, leave yourself @10 feet (fibre) at each end and circle the fibre. Oh, and it was Multi strand with spares.

Thus the phrase, "up the coax"
-
Yes rory, G.E. You need to get a rack w/ termination cards. Many sand dollars. Last big job I did with fibre was about 2 1/2 years ago...255 cams-Medical Center. Took 1 year. Access, intercoms, it was a sweet gig.

The best Fiber Equipment on the market is Fiber Options, in my humble opinion.

Crayola?...maybe Playskool Description starts off with DVR. "24 high power LED’s lets you see up to 100â€

Maxtor is an awful hard drive. We have been having the same issues. Panasonic recommends them as a replacement for their DVR's. Someone must be paying someone.

MetzLyov, great fishing in Fla. But a vacation from Southern Cal to Florida? I used to live in La Jolla...'twas a vaction.

If you want to pay me $2000 plus for a job we can do for $500, I will gladly take it.

These are at a security both that is in a 6 story garage (government). So the cam is attached to ceiling of the entrance, facing the sun. I always suggest to the customer to use/install the proper lighting-you can't beat proper lighting.

Wrong Voltage for CCTV Cameras issue

Garbage, throw them out. You can get those cams for @ $99.00 US. -
Thanks bud, will stay away.

We do not sell/install items that "do not work". We are a reputable company. If it can't be done, we will tell you. That's where the other companies snake in. Then we charge double to clean up the mess.

Those cams come with an AC adaptor, so can be easily checked. Besides, power supply should be fused. -

Garbage. Did that before too. I should have read the instructions instead of what the company sent to me when I went to install them in the field. They do it all the time-send 12vDC cams with a 24vAC can. Now I always check.
