Then we are not the company for them. Let someone else get sued. I am sorry, we do not do budget and a "Professional Installer" does not compromise, otherwise, he wouldn't be called a Pro. It's like when we see a twist-on, right away it was done by a homeowner or someone looking to save a buck. Sometimes we do projects "on the cheap" but has nothing to do with quality. When I mean "on the cheap", it means we will do it cheap (labor-wise) only because there is a bigger project we are after and will re-coop.

They are not camera companies for professional installs (for us). Most times, when a job is spec'd out, the contract will have Pelco, Ganz, Sanyo, Sony, or Panasonic. I have yet to see a Nuvico nor an Everfocus on any sheet. When a contract calls for a recommendation, we go with the best and quite frankly, it doesn't include Nuvico nor Everfocus. I guess if you are doing a Gas Station or a Mom and Pop store, Nuvico or Everfocus would be top of the line. I don't mean to come across ****y, but we just do not deal with those types of installs. We wouldn't consider these Professional installs. Pelco (PTZ/domes) is a superior product with superior tech support and would put them up against any company, pound for pound. As far as indoor domes (fixed) it's Ganz or Panasonic, depending on the budget. We also do not use IR Cameras (IR Lighting) on Pro Installs. There needs to be Professional lighting on the subject/area (not our responsibility) but we consult on this. I have yet to encounter a site where lighting can not be controlled. There are so many “so-calledâ€

Professional user wants quality dome @ budget price
DataAve replied to WildCard's topic in Security Cameras
The only domes we use on professional sites are the Pelco's. More $$$, but they can't be beat. Remember, we are talking about Security/Safety here. You can call Pelco on Christmas Eve at midnight and a person will answer the phone. -
How can it not be grounded? The board is screwed to the case, all metal.

All the information that was provided here says alot about this company. We will never buy a Geo Card. Do you know how many cards we would have to upgrade (and we are a small company)? Terrible business.

Accessing a Cctv on a Network behind a Router via Web

When someone tries to connect to port 80 of your IP address, they are trying to connect to your actual modem, but it will not "hear" that request, because your ISP plugs 80. If you set the modem to forward port 5050 (http://your-ip-address:5050) and it "hears" that request, it will know to go to port 80 on 192.168.x.1 If you need another, you can forward another port (say port 5193) to computer/dvr/cam to 192.168.x.2 on port 80. So the second addy would read "http://your-ip-address:5193". You can go on. Mine is a little more complicated, because I am behind the modem and 2 routers, just to be a bit more safe and to keep the naughty bits out. -

I believe Verizon blocks incomming port 80. -
I have used Macs and despise them. They make good door stops, though. Not true. Alot of security issues are out of the users control. So very true. Just my 2 cents.
