You have the AvTech on your web, ror? -
What's their website?

The non-union type would splice the 20, 30, 40 feet of mongo to make the 90 foot run. True, customer all ready paid for that leftover mongo, but then you charge the next customer for that same leftover mongo that will have a 20, 30 or 40 foot run. Nothing wrong with that, because that is GOOD business.

Good, it will bring the prices down. The ride of selling products at 1000 times what they are truly are worth, is over. They say "you are paying for the technology". What does it take to make a DVR today, 25-50-100 bucks, tops? I am just talking about the unit itself. By the time it gets to the End User, the damn thing costs $7000. Cry all you like, but I like this trend! What is happening here, happens with any product. It's like the computer-when I was a kid, my Pops took me to work and showed me a computer, it was the size of a small house and cost major $$$. This same computer today, I can fit on the floor at my desk and is a few hundred bucks. The only "safe" place to be is in the service industry.

It shouldn't be too expensive it's only a Intel Pentium IV 1.8Ghz w/256mb ram. This is a PC DVR I would consider.

It looks like you buy the comart card and slap it in this unit with your choice of operating system. Anyone?

DVR Cards Pros & Cons
DataAve replied to MetzLyov's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I don't get it. By the time you build a computer around a say $4-500 DVR card, you're into about $1500 plus. You can get a decent Standalone for that. A computer in the living room is not very attractive, whereas a standalone can be put in your media center cabinet with the rest of your equipment. -
Can someone recommend a compression crimper?
DataAve replied to jjjjjjj's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yep, ideal makes a nice one too. Blue handle and changable dies. I have one Harris and one Ideal, so I don't have to keep changing dies-like #10's or #2's BNCs. -
Who makes this 8ch dvr that records @ 240fps

That website charges 20-50 percent more than other websites. -

In regards to Spytown...and not for nothing, but I WILL NOT buy anything security from a company that sells a "MoleChaser"!!! Their site also looks like the Sunday comics.
