$2.70 here (Long Island). I bet it hits $5.00 in a year. I recently got back from Ireland-$5.30 a gallon (translated). Now I know why they all drive mini's. Get Bush out!
-
It's a niche. Wish I thought of it. Business is booming for those "geeks". They drive volkswagon bugs with their logo splatted all over it.

It was worth that extra $1500, jisaacmagee. Pay little now, or pay big later. Good move and lesson learned. I might slam one of these in now while the walls are bare.

I just have to offer wiring advice. Get them all in now, speaker, cctv, phone, cat 5/6, many 110 outlets (could never have enough), everything. Put all extra runs in there-where you think you might want a cam. It would be easier/cheaper to get it all done now.

rory, I will hook one up tomorrow so you can lookie

Some people are very happy with PC based. We do not install them. I have a few laying around from system pulls. Some DVR's have the webserver built in AND have remote software. We (and our customers) like this feature. I have never seen a Sanyo or Panasonic crash...I have done service calls where the "boogey man" had played with the settings and the customer said it crashed. I take that back, Panasonic was using these awful Maxtors that kept on going dead. MetzLyov and rory kalatel can assist even more.

They are good solid units. We install them all the time.

Coax with a stringer (guy wire). Nice and high.

Real professional looking.

I'm not a fan of DM either.

Please talk to MetzLyov. I would go with one of his GE's before I'd go with a Pelco DVR. He might even have something even better.

Hey rory, how long (about) recording would I get on the 640 gig Kalatel?
-
Panasonic 30 images per second 720 x 480 60 images per second 720 x 240 120 images per second 860 x 240 Multi-screen 60 ips Pelco dx8000 Up to 480 Images Per Second (IPS) Recording Rate at 320 x 240 Record rate is 480 TOTAL - THIS WOULD BE 30ips at 320 x 240 (Magnifying glass)? It runs on Windows 2000! Security and Lockdown Protection Based on NIST and Microsoft Standards (Security and Microsoft should not be used in the same sentence)

Panasonic, it's pertty too. Those stuffed shirts will love it.
-
Not a Pelco. We use all their stuff, but their DVR's are garbage. I think it is an OEM too. Rory, MetzLyov?

Would be mighty unstable up there. Put your hand on the tower when the equipmet is running.

I'm trying...been swamped.

As everyone knows, you can't make everybody happy. -
I got the 4nsys.com C-keep 16. It is not bad, just overpriced. I have been using the maker from Korea for direct support and they are most helpful.
-
Panasonic,we use them all the time and are packed with feature, also, very expensive.

Getting video over rough terrain

I do have some nice fiber shots. I just have to pull them out of my portfolio and scan. I would climb anything, bud. When a was a wee bit of a Lad, I was a tree climber (State Certified Arborist). These days, I just hop in the bucket. -

I like Pelco and their tech support is second to none. Attended many classes they have offered in N.J. In fact, we just today started a S.U.N.Y. College and all indoor pelco domes. Outdoor, we are using Sony Super Ex-view (real Sonys-real nice "schtuff"-Pelco housings).
