    Frustrated with cheap stuff!

For my residence i have two areas with constant light and everything else is motion. My concern with just doing two color cams is what if the power goes out, then i lose all light until it comes back which means no usable picture, which is where the ir would come into play.Am i correct in thinking this?

Those are some nice clear nighttime camera views!Do those two cameras stay in color due to the amount of exterior lighting?
  3. My guess would be a video amplifier with runs that long..

Foggy picture when IR turns on at night

Okay so the 2760NVF should fit the bill since it has DC Iris and ICR..

So you use the CNB2760NVF? It says that camera has 18 led's with a max range of 20 meters which equals to 65 and 1/2 feet.So realistically that ir range is about 30'.That works since i have three motion light fixures and three photocell fixtures.I'm still not sold on the whole IR cut filter thingy.I need to do some testing with two exact cameras, but one with and one without an ir cut filter to see which i really prefer.

That CNB looks promising.Thats just it,the light bulb is green and the area is 15'x5'.I think to play it safe, i should go with something like the CNB.Worst case scenario,i can disable the ir.

Foggy picture when IR turns on at night

I need a mini day/night bullet cam to cover my front door. The light bulb on the front covered entrance patio is green,so i wonder how that would affect the camera picture? I was looking at the Intellicam CBC-100.My concern is it's only a 380tvl with 3.6mm lense
  12. I see Intellicams don't come in white so..........

So does that BW Exview have onboard ir's or is that just exterior lighting?

So Rory, you prefer to use true day/night cameras and separate ir panels?

Is this where an ir cut filter would come in handy?

Could be ir reflection.Point the camera down a little more to see if it goes away.

    Mobile View Program

Okay, found a little more info on this program.I noticed Speco and Intellicam both mention Mobile View.Is it the exact same program utilized by both manufacturers?
  20. Yes he did.I'm just bustin chops.I can't wait to get my cameras up..Looking forward to the install and setup.
  21. Ouch! That twist-on BNC looks deadly! Lots of lil scraglies .
  22. I have placed many orders with Mike at shoreviewsecurity.com over the last 12 months. I think maybe 3-4 different orders since last October. I bought a G4 DVR, cameras, some wiring, and a power supply from him. Not only do I *HIGHLY* recommend using Mike, but I also highly recommend the G4 DVR's that he sells. I am very happy with mine I thought the novelty would wear off after a year, but I am still tinkering with my cctv system all the time. I just installed another camera today! http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=18575 I agree!!! Mike is truly da man! I've learned more about camera and dvr selection from him than i've read in months. With Mike it's truly a,"This is what i know works in this type of environment" conversation..
  23. Yeah it is kinda huge for a residential application, but if it works then hey!
  24. That is one beautiful picture especially at night with just moonlight and no ir!
