  1. Camera will be eight feet high looking slightly downward covering an area of yard with a clear view and no obstructions.I was thinking of mounting illumnator 1 foot off of ground with a clear view of the area with no obstructions.
  2. Yep 6160 alpha keypad is the way to go for programming.Vista 20P is a breeze for me.I made mine all wireless since i move around to include a keyfob. You can pm me with all the gear you have.If you wanna pay for shipping i'll program everything for you and ship it back.Or,mount your sensors and run your wiring and i'll be more than happy to help with the programming.
  3. Neat idea. That's why i came here.To get the know how..

where is your cctv DVR mounted??

Cellular is the backup to pots line.Either way i have comm failure protection. If either goes out,it automatically sends that failure code, which prompts the contact from central.Trust you me,you don't get away with nothing in Willingboro..That's one thing i can say.The police force is on the money!!!
  6. This is what i mean.Green is my lighting, brown is where i'm thinking of positioning my cameras in the front of the house. All cameras have varifocal lenses. The green light in the middle is a patio fixture with a standard bulb where as the others are halogen. The driveway light is motion triggered. The other two i have set on a dusk/dawn photocell so they stay on all night.
  7. My camera layout puts the cameras viewing from behind the lights looking the same way about 10' away from each other.

This is why i'm running a home security system with cellular backup and cctv .
  9. SureFire led lights are great.I get them from the military..
  10. Just for my personal home and some family members.Whenever i'm back in NJ,family always has a to do list for me.This last trip was security light heaven.Next trip will be cctv system.Thank goodness i went to school for electronics and electrical engineering.Learned a lot working for the contractors i worked for.I think once i retire from the military i'm gonna go back into the security/cctv bizz.Won't be looking to make a bunch of money, but rather do something that i love doing.
  11. What brand and type of cameras do you have?
  12. Great,i'm on the right track.Gotta put all my supplies on paper so that i do one bulk order and be done..
  13. Thanks for all the recomendations everyone..Looking at picking up a new Toyota Tundra to haul my gear in also..
  14. My driveway is maybe is about 50ft long.I have a motion security light on my driveway. When the motion light is off, there is absolutely no light whatsoever on my driveway. It's completely dark.So do i get a camera that can see in zero illumination without ir lights,or do i get a camera that has ir's? My concern is when the security lights come on and off, that the picture will suffer or will the camera adjust quickly?
  15. Decided to mount under the sofitt.I sent you a pm.
  16. Sounds like a winna..Here is my other question about a driveway cam.My garage roof has the flat side facing front with the roof angles of the left and right.Should i mount the camera under the sofitt which would put the camera at about 7'.Or should i mount the camera higher up on the flat face of the roof with the camera looking down onto the driveway/walkway?
  17. Thanks Tailbone for the heads up.I never even thought to look to see about authorized resellers. This is starting to become a headache..I called about four different cctv installers in my area in South Jersey. All of them said i would receive a return call from a tech to go over what i wanted and to schedule a consult and NOBODY called me back!! All i'm looking for is a 8 camera dvr system fed to 3 tv's in the home.
  18. Thanks for your suggestion. The Nuvico is 239 at Spytown and the Vitek is 174 at 123Security.
  19. Anyone have any experience yet with the Nuvico CB-HD39L and/or the CB-HD65N-L cameras? I'm looking at using these cameras for my parents home along with the Nuvico AL-805 8 channel Apex-Lite Series DVR.
  20. I think your best bet with what you have there is to print it out post them in your neighborhood.I know they aren't good and clear, but it the thieves themselves set it,they will know that more people will be looking for people or anything out of the ordinary..If you can afford it,maybe upgrade one or two of your cameras.
  21. Just wanted to let everyone know i made it back safe and sound in one piece. It was a pleasure reading and learning all that i can from the professionals on this site.Without you guys i wouldn't have a clue and probably would've bought one of those box systems and been highly disappointed. You guys inspired me so much that i've started on my own time putting together home security system packages for different members in my families homes.I laid out, assembled, installed and programmed my own Ademco Vista 20P security system and it was a blast and i've been bitten by the security/cctv bug.My electronics/electrical engineering certification has help tremendously combined with the page after page knowledge from you great folks on here.I look forward to learning all that i can from you guys here.Thank you and God Bless!!!!!!
