  1. I would like to purchase all of my equipment locally before having to order online if at all possible.I'm looking for 8 IC Realtime ICR300 style cameras,1 IC Realtime EL720 style indoor dome camera, a 16 channel standalone dvr, siamese cables,3 zone ir repeater hub,3 ir recievers, a power distribution box to power my 9 cameras, pigtails, bnc to rca connectors and a video distribution amplifier.
  2. What i want to do is be able to control my dvr from more than just one room with the dvr remote. What kind of ir repeater do i need to purchase? The dvr i am looking at comes with a external ir sensor that plugs into the back, but it will not suit my needs.I need a 3 sensor one flasher setup. The systems i've come across on line are all 1 sensor and 3 or 4 flasher setup.
  3. Good thing i have some know how,i couldn't afford to eat and pay those prices..

Highly reflective UK rear number plates

What about changing your mounting angle so that the camera or cameras are looking at your vehicle at an angle from the front and an angle from the rear.So say you mount a camera more toward the rear of your vehicle looking forward, and a more forward camera looking toward the rear. That would give your camera a more direct angle shot of the license plate rather than trying to catch it from more of a side view.

Do you have a way of mounting a camera at plate height so that the camera would have more of a direct view rather than looking down.If i remember correctly, that photo blocker stuff doesn't allow angle camera shots, but it does allow straight on plate reading and shots to sorta hide that fact that it's present, since most law enforcment cameras are placed at an angle to the road surface to allow plate recognition from the side along with a picture of you.

Hmm i wonder if they coated their plate with something like photo blocker that makes the plate unreadable by things like red light cameras. That stuff makes the whole plate wash out white. It would make sense since they are thieves

Looks like IR is the problem.Does your camera have ir?
  8. Thanks Scorpion. The Xantech micro heads do have a talk back led.I was deciding between the Xantech micros and the Niles MS210 which is a micro surface mount, but has wide angle reception and a blue led that isn't housed in the ir target lens head like the Xantech micro.
  9. Okay i understand..I was just trying to see the reasoning behind having a ir hub block with several independant zones over having a single zone block with several ir targets wire into it.I'm going to go with 3 micro link target heads and install them in my ceilings, and wire them all back into the ZC21 and have my two outer rooms on zone one and the last room by itself on zone 2.
  10. Okay now i'm a little confused. In looking at the Xantech site,i would think i need a 2 zone connecting block for 2 separate ir targets. When i look at parts expresses site, they sell a wired home single block that can have up to 15 targets wired into it thru one terminal block with up to 4 emitters coming out.So why would i need to have a block that has separate zones when i will be only using it to control my one dvr from multiple rooms?
  11. Whew i finally found em.They are DMD5S.With these i can take and drill a center hole into them with my uni-bit,place a grommet in,seal the hole and be good.
  12. I've got a great price on some Accudome exterior vandal-proof dome cameras, and i'm going to mount them under my soffit. Now my soffit is just that vinyl siding lay-in panel type that's empty behind it.I don't want to use just a block of wood behind it i would like to use an actual metal bracket.I came across a dome camera mount that was aluminum and looked like an L-bracket with a rounded end on it that would be perfect, but i can't remember where i saw it.I've searched high and low and can't seem to find it.I need something like a CMB-227 but with the camera base facing down, and the mounting base facing up.
  13. With 6 siamese and 2-3 cat5's your better off looking at atleast 2".You'll thank yourself when you start pulling. You can even use pulling lube to make your life so much easier.Remember to stager your connectors. Also pull an extra pull string to leave there incase you ever have to go back into the run for anything.
  14. If your using rigid, just do your pipe layout on paper and purchase your straights,90's,couplings and connectors and whatever weatherproof boxes you'll need. You'll need,a pipe threader, reamer, pipe vise, cutting oil,and rigid pipe straps..If you have any buddies that are electricians, you can pay them to do your pipe work.I use 1/4-20 lead anchors set into the concrete with 1/4-20 machine screw and fender washers. You may not need the fender washers though. All these items can be found at your local electrical supply,Lowes or HD.

    Has anyone used Atrixlts cameras?

I've seen several different brands that look like the Atrixlts one, with several different names. What was the name brand on your camera?Remember their are several dome and bullet cams that look alike, but they are not made alike. There where reviews on the Atrixlts 665H which doesn't have the vari-focal lense, and only has 24ir leds' and each user said the picture day and night was outstanding and they ordered more.So the vari-focal lense 668H should be even better.I even verified my equipment choices with Scorpion, and even he liked my choices.I opted to go with all vari-focal lenses after talking with him, to make sure i got a good quality picture from each camera.
  16. I'm interested in purchasing 8 of their DVCCMDNV668H Dome vandal proof 36 IR vari-focal camers for the exterior of my home.

    Has anyone used Atrixlts cameras?

I'm going to be powering them with a DVCPB9AUL 9-Channel 10-amp camera power supply. Each camera has a minimum power requirement of 500ma,but the recommended is 1 amp.I went straight to the atrixlts site to get all the actual manufacturer specs in detail. As i have to mount eight of these that need 1 amp,and an interior dome that will need about 150ma.So i should be good.
  18. I was looking on the AV Tech site trying to decide on a dvr. There are three that i'm looking at,the AVC758/D,the VC-SYS-8CHWEBR,and the CBC DR8N250/500,since they are all within my price range.I like the feature of the AVC785D that i can view all 8 of my cameras in 2 groups for around 1000-1100,but i looked also on homesecuritystore, and the dvr VC-SYS-8CHWEBR looks the exact same, except their model has a cd burner instead of dvd burner and it's only 800.00 and i don't see anything about the grouping option either.Reliable CCTV has the DR8N250/500 for between 940-1100.00.I like the jog wheel on front which makes reviewing footage easier than a rewind button. You guys expertise about these three dvr's would be greatly appreciated.I just want a good dvr for recording, viewing and copying footage if i need to turn a cd into law enforcment.Web access isn't needed.
  19. Thanks again Scorpio.I pm'd ShoreView Security since he's not to far from me in south Jersey.
  20. Well peeps i found what i was looking for from a company called Niles. The model is MSU250.They specialize in home audio/video products. The 2 input hub is only about 90.00 bucks.I only need a 2 hub since the dvr already comes with one external sensor. The killer is that each sensor is between 119-129 bucks!!
  21. Yeah i checked on Ebay, and all that was for sale where Pelco video conditioners,no distribution amplifiers.I will for surely keep looking. From my research here,Pelco seems to be a top name so i would like to stick with a well known reliable product from the beginning instead of trying to be to cheap.I picked out eight Atrixlts 668H vandal proof vari-focal cams for my exterior, next i want to make sure i get a good quality 8 channel dvr.I don't need internet access, just good solid recording and viewing with a cd-r drive to write to in the event i need to show the police. Would a 250gb hardrive suffice?
  22. I've read several pages so far on this so i want to make sure i have my idea right.I don't want to go thru the whole modulating channels on my comcast cable line.I would like to just come off of either the vga video or the bnc video out of my dvr and split that signal to 3 tv's.All of my tv's have an input button on the remote so that as i hit the button,it switches inputs, and they have more than one set of inputs on the rear.So am i correct in thinking all i need is an bnc to rca adapter,an rca video/amplifier,and 3 pairs of rca video cable? For the 3 cables,i was looking at digital coax(RG59) rca video cable.
  23. Okay gotcha. My video out on my dvr has a vga port and a video out bnc connection. So i'll use the bnc video out and put a bnc to rca connector on that and then run the rca to video amplifier, and then out to my 3 tv's.I googled Pelco video amplifier and found model DA104DT Video distribution amplifier 1in x 4 out
  24. I have an L-shaped ranch style home with the l-leg being on the right.I'm looking for guidance on a 8 camera system to cover my 2 car driveway, front door, left side gate entrance, right side gate entrance and 3 cameras for my back yard. The back yard cam's are needed to cover back door to left of chimney, back door and sliding patio doors to right of chimney and one more camera to cover rear blind spot of right side gate entrance.I've researched and found 8 camera dvr kits for around 1,000-1500.00 which is around my price range.I'm trying to keep it at no more than 1200.00.I have vinyl siding all the way around with a 12" wide soffit, but it's empty inside. It just has the vinyl sorta screening laid in it.Each camera needs to see between 25-40'.I found a 8 camera dvr system called the CLEARVU3 by Svat for 1200.00.Will this work or should i look elsewhere?
