Well I got it working. I re-started the geo server with start-up settings and re-started my cell. I ran the Msview3.exe from my phone and entered all the data from scratch and it connected. I want to thank you for your attention. Your posts touched on some configurations that I had to poke around to find when setting this thing up. Hopefully between our posts others trying to get the mobile app working will find some guidance here. Have a good one.

Thanks Rich. I do have all the ports forwarded (80, 4550 and 5550). As I said before I can see my cams from any remote PC. As for the version I have 6.1 standard (non touch screen). I did re-start the cam server and toggle on all the services (mobile and 3GPP). I just keep getting "connection failed". Is there a log on the server where I can at least see if I am hitting the webcam and what the error is?

I dont see that on the DVD as it appears to be included on the 8.12 DVD. V8.3 does not have it. http://www.geovision.com.tw/geovisionwww/ftp/FAQ/doc/HandheldDeviceView8200.pdf gives all the applications for mobile devices. The version I installed says it's for mobile 6. I am still looking for the answers. Thanks for the help though.

make sure your router has the following ports forwarded to your cam server. 80, 4550, 5550. That is just the basic ports for viewing and remote playback. Does not include audio or mobile etc. If you can see it from inside your network but not outside, it is most likely a port forwarding issue. Hope that helps.

I am pulling my hair out trying to see my cameras on my cell phone Here is what I have. GV800 running v8.3 on XP pro SP3. Camera server runs great. The phone is a Samsung Code on metro PCS running windows mobile 6.1. I copied the folder MSViewV3 from the geo DVD onto the phone and attempted to install it by clicking setup.exe. I got an Access denied because it was not digitally signed with a trusted certificate. SO, I ran setup.exe from my PC and chose my phone's sync folder as the destination. I then sync'd my phone and there was MsviewV3.exe to start the program on my phone. So from my phone I clicked the MsviewV3.exe and got the welcome screen and selected "Live" from the "Type" option. I was then prompted for the IP, port, username, password and snapshot path. I put in all the info (port 8866) and selected "connect" from the "control" option. The color wheel started spinning (let you know windows mobile is busy) and after 30 seconds got "connection failed". I then tried it again with the RPB option from the "type" menu using port 5511 and got the same results. My router has all ports forwarded to my cam server. I can see my cams from any computer in the world just not my new smart phone. Can anyone shed some light on my situation please?

I resolved this by replacing the card. For those who have had the same issue if you un-install and re-install the drivers AND try a different PCI slot AND try a different mobo AND STILL get the KeyPro error, yiou have a bad card. Strange how it installs and shows up in device manager but wont run.

WinXP Pro SP3, GV 8.2, GV1480. Mother board died so I put a new mobo in (ntel PR31) and I kep getting the same error. HELP!!!!!!!! I have tried un-installing the driver and re-installing it. I have tried changing PCI slots and re-installing the software and even re-formated and re-installed windows with a clen install of geovision. Are there any other solutions that I dont know about? The card worked before but the mobo did die. Is it possible the card cooked when the mobo went?

Thanks JD. What I ended up doing was going to Start > Programs > GV1480 > GeoVision Repair Database Utility. At that point I saw my drives in the window so I selected the use default path and checked the "Repair All Detail" option and it took about 14 hours but in the end all my data was there again. Thanks

I recently did a clean install of XP pro and geo ver 8.2. I originally had the db files in a directory outside of the geo folder and all my video data on seperate drives. When I finsihed my install I pointed the db to the new folder and added the drives to the storage group folder. When I search the log files the dates show up but all have a question mark in the check box and will not play. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks

For those of you who get to this post, the only way I was able to resolve my "video lost" issue was to do a clean install of windows and geo software ver 8.2. So far so good. I originally had ver 8.12 and upgraded. I am guessing that is where the trouble stemmed from. Good luck.

There are a variety of cameras and many are the same. On one of the servers that was having this problem, i disconnected and reconnected all the BNC connections to the octopus cable and I have not had that problem. I was not as lucky with the other. I cant imagine why one camera could take down the system. Any help would be nice, Thanks

GV 1480 on a intel mobo 945 chipset, 2 gigs DDR2 533mhz, core 2 duo 2.66 533 FSB, 4 sata2 TB seagates. Upgraded from 8.12 to 8.2 4 months ago. Running fine for 8 months and out of nowhere, video lost. Restart server or multi-cam fixes but it eventualy looses it several times daily. This happened to me about 4 months ago so I buttoned up the coax going to the pig-tails and that took the strain off the pigtail. That stopped it but now here it is again. Do the pigtails go bad? Any ideas out there. If my client needs footage for a period when it was down they will not be happy. FYI: I have 6 servers running the 1480 at this location and 2 of them are doing this.

Has anyone ever gotten the more than 10 FPS accross 16 cams with a GV-1480 because I have not even come close. I have several setups. 1)intel 945 chipset, 2.4ghz core 2 duo 533FSB, 2GIG DDR2 533mhz, 500GB SATA2 2) intel 965 chipset, 2.4ghz core 2 duo 800FSB, 2GIG DDR2 800mhz, 1TB SATA2 2) intel G31 chipset, 3.0ghz core 2 duo 1333FSB, 2GIG DDR2 800mhz, 1TB SATA2 x 4 I even tried the PCIe GV 1480.. Never has it looked like more that 5 FPS. I tried letting the system manage the frames and I also set the max FPS and nothing improved about what looks like 5FPS at best. Anyone have better luck than me?

I have an executable that installs all the codecs. Very simple and fool proof. Just run it and open the AVI in media player or winamp. I would post a link but I dont have enough posts to do so. If you want it PM me.

MSI motherboard G31M3. This motherboard disables the video once you install a GV-1480 card. I tried the follwoing workarounds with no success. 1) added a PCIx video card and set the default video in the bios to PCIe 2) selected the onboard video as the default video 3) updated the bios to the most current version no matter what I tried, everytime I put the GV-1480 in, the MSI saw it as a display card not a video capture. So, I got an intel D31PR mobo. I didnt even have to re-install windows as they both have the same chipset. Worked like a charm
