Can't get through a Netopia to a T.O.M. system.
MrRaster posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I am trying to get through a freaking Netopia router and it's simply not working. I can get access to the T.O.M. DVR within the network. WebDVR comes up and I have no problems until I try to get access from the outside. I don't know where I am going wrong. It has to be user error. I have pinholes punched through for the router (it calls its port forwarding "pinholes") I have TCP and UDP set for 9012-9014 in the Netopia because the port in the networking section of the setup page for the DVR says its 9013. I have been banging my head against the wall. I have to be doing something wrong. Any ideas? ~huggy -

wow. that, my friend, is an orgy of information. thank you so much for the time. i am going to try to get in there and fix it asap, but Gustav is freaking people out around here. it looks like New Orleans is a little gun shy about storms. -

Hey there all. I'm looking for a little help. I was doing a little IT work for a friend at his restaurant when I learned they have a 16 camera DVR security system that no one has had access to in over a year. There is no manual or marking on said system. The guy that installed it vanished so no contacting him. I have gone through many websites in search of this system and I have hit a wall. Does anyone have an idea who makes this system? I'm just trying to find a manual now. Thanks in advance yall. MrRaster

Thanks man, i will sent you a pm if i need any help. I am sure its just a port forwarding issue. They got a new POS system and the people that installed it screwed up all the internal addresses and disabled port forwarding. I love living in New Orleans. incompetence is running rampant. Thanks again. You guys are kickass.

Darn skippy. Thanks to you guys, the owner of the restaurant wants me to install and maintain a 16 camera system in another location. I am happy to oblige him. I just need to figure out how.

That did the trick. I have total access to the box now. Thank you so much. All i have to do is figure how to access it from the outside world. its a router issue and all i have to do is play with settings. i am able to access it from the internal network so i know the webserver is up and running. Thanks again guys. Your help was invaluable and i will be back. Huggy.

I am not sure. I won't get a chance to poke at it till thursday. I will let you know once I get in there. A lot of the functions seem the same and button locations look identical. We shall see once I log in...if I can. The guy that installed it really screwed them over. They had a server stealing product and couldn't prove it because they couldn't gain access to the admin controls to burn a DVD to give police. It's a mess. I have to put all new BNC ends on the cables and replace 2 cameras. it is totally going to suck if I can't gain access. Thanks again. I'll update as soon as I know more. Huggy

If i could come over there and hug you I would. Thank you so much. edit : poop. this one is really close, but not the one. is it standard practice in the manufacturing of these devices to not give them model names and such?
