I have been through my weight in BNC's! Just takes practice.

Does anyone not get these indoors? Does an auto adjusting IR that is linked to the vari-focal lens make a difference?

I like the Extreme WZ series cams. Many don't, but I have had good luck with them. They also do overnight advance replacement if there is ever an issue (I have never had one). Rob

Linux vs Windows based DVR, the debate continues.....
robg replied to neugent's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Linux will be more stable and reliable. It always has been in my experience. The appliances out there typically use embedded linux. -
This is correct, the shield is the ground. Rob

Does anyone know of a DVR that connects to the network where the software that is included will allow me to view multiple DVR's simultaneously? Thanks, Rob

Good info, thanks for the replies. I have since found out that the DVR's that I am using do provide for this, but not with the included software, it's an additional download. I have been using Nuvico and was only using the Lite version of software. The full monitoring program (not "lite")will allow you to build virtual DVR's and place cam's from multiple physical devices in the order you want on one virtual DVR monitoring screen. Thanks, Rob

if you only need 1 camera, axis ip cameras include a license for their camera recording software that you can use on your existing pc. The cameras aren't the best or the cheapest, but you can get a low cost option and use your existing hardware. Rob

I get the same thing and have determined that it is just dust - at least that is all that it is indoors. Outdoors, I haven't seen bugs attracted to the IR.

Does anyone have experience with this cam? I need something outdoor, day/night that has a pretty good zoom. From the charts that I have seen, I need a lens at around 80mm to see a 15ft wide gate at about 100-125'. Any thoughts on the Nuvico CI-Z30N-L? Thanks - Rob
