In regards to the IP address, personally I use multiple external static ip(s) on a private range but the location where that unit is that bulding has a single static ip address with port forwarding setup and no, i never got it solved for a roaming connection can only use public wifi and not gprs as hoped, I got as far as finding out the GPRS Connection web based traffic was getting molested by o2 but couldnt get any confirmation of what happens to the traffic on their network or more importantly their side of the firewall. So gave up due to lack of time, which was a real shame.
  2. Unfortunately I have no schematic, one was never issued and i wouldn't fancy my chances at trying to draw one up. The main problem is when a GPRS connection is the only active connection available it refuses to work, the software cannot connect the mobile phone to CCTV servers. On the phone if WiFi is active there is no problem, if the WiFi connection is turned off, EagleEyes just gives "Login Failed", EagleEyes in Jbed "Sys.Login.." and it hangs, Supervisor asks if it can open a GPRS connection but then fails to login.
  3. I have used the search function but not been able to solve my particular problem. Any help offered would be appreciatedl; CCTV Servers x2 - 8 Cameras + TV Monitor - 4 Cameras + TV Monitor AVTECH 4 CHANEL AVC782ZAC (UK) B 7G120595 000E530598E3 8 CHANEL AVC7858CH MPEG-4 DVR SUPREME PENTAPLEX SYSTEMS Both are located at the same site but in two seperated building connected by Wired LAN both buildings have bridged WiFi APs, One Gateway & DNS in one building with hardware routing + various PCs. Mobile Phones: o2 XDA Stella x2 (Contract is with o2) Software used: EagleEyes & Supervisor (mobile phone) Video Server E & Web Portal (PC) Problem: WiFi connection works GPRS Dosn't Detials: When connecting via local LAN IP over WiFi or from External WAN (Static) IP using port forwarding done by a hardware router via offsite WiFi i can connect straight away. EagleEyes however i cant get to connect or even try to connect coming up with "Login Failed" it dosnt seem to check for a connection and if i open up a Data GPRS connection for another program that dosnt fix it either. Using Esmertec Jbed (Java) & Supervisor - I can get supervisor to open a GPRS connection but i get "Login Failed" if WiFi was previous active it connects although the quality of the feed is no where near as good as when using EagleEyes. Using Esmertec Jbed & EagleEyes - I get a white screen displaying "Sys.login" which just hangs and does nothing. I can connect using Video Server E fine from a PC on the LAN and over the Internet also using the Web Portal again fine. Can't use the Java software linked from the web portal on the phone as its not a compatible PPC application. I'm really stuck here and would appreciated any help; I've tried everything i can think but im coming at this from an IT background Point of view, if there is any CCTV specialists/hobbyists out there that could lend a hand, any ideas _anything_ at all as I've tried everything i can think off. I've spent about 3 days trying to get this working and god knows how much time researching. Its for my Dad as the guys who suppiled the hardware were worse than useless and had absolutely no idea how to get the CCTV remote access working, botched the initial CCTV Camera install, power routing & came underprepared. Their "IT guy" dosn't have a clue, he didnt even know what port forwarding was and tried to supply an all in one ADSL router and screwed our network setup which buggered most of the existing IT gear up and took alot of work to revert. Best part was they said we could only have one server connected for remote access at a time and were trying to tell us to turn one at a time so the web portal would connect and there was no way to have 1 Server running both sets of cameras for the two buildings. Not impressed! Anyway sorry for the wall of text. Please Help.
