DiSS Netmaster DigaNet - SungJin?
scottj replied to G22's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I had heard DeltaVision went under. I stand corrected if AD took them over. Scottj -
DiSS Netmaster DigaNet - SungJin?
scottj replied to G22's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It may not be Kodicom, ( a copy then) but if you pull the board out it is identical. Just like DeltaVision (who used Kodicom with modified Diginet software and just a new crayon for the GUI). I never said DSC went under, I said DeltaVision did. Scottj -
DiSS Netmaster DigaNet - SungJin?

The old Kodicom based machine is all it is. remember DeltaVision? Same junk, different logo. DeltaVision eventually went under after DSC bought them out and liquidated them. Scottj -
The purpose is to keep "guest" users for demo purposes from staying logged into the system sucking up your systems available bandwidth. You can disable the feature if you don't think you need it, or just completely disable the Guest remote permissions, or the account in general. As for disabling the snaphot function, I don't think you can but I would have to verify this. Scottj

The Data Capture modules are rarely needed to interface POS, if anything they have been known to cause lockups to the POS printer if you connect them according to the Geo supplied installation drawings. It is best to just connect them straight through to the DVR and utilize the Tx/Rx/Ground pin assignments needed to communicate with the POS. And I have to agree with Sal, we have had 7.1 Beta for months and it is wicked buggy. Scottj

When I think of Supermarket, I think of Ralph's or Albertsons in size etc. That would take a minimum of 16 cameras to provide coverage, typically more. 5K wouldn't provide the prevailing wages for an install of that magnitude, let alone any equipment. Market average for a job that size in my area, 15~23K depending on the recorders, cameras, etc. ADT is generally on the high end of that spectrum once you factor out the lease agreement and fees. They can easily double that price in some of their leases if the customer chooses not to capitalize the equipment. If it is a Quick Shop like a 7-Eleven or an AM/PM store, 5K would probably cut it and still be able to offer some decent fixed cameras with a nice recording package. Scottj

Cheap wireless cameras/hardware are exactly that, CHEAP. You get what you pay for in most cases, certainly in the wireless video arena. I am going to agree with WirelessEye that if the system design matrix is planned properly by knowledgable people in the wirless field, it works just as good as a wired system. The problem is that many people hear the term "wireless", and associate it with the technology of a 4-port D-Link wireless home router. Big difference from other woreless technologies. I personally prefer wired due to cost (application dependent obviously), but wireless done correctly most certainly has its place in the market for CCTV deployments, especially larger scaled jobs. I wouldn't touch a Supermarket for 5K, unless it was a 4 camera job and even that is debatable. I don't see where that would be competitve with others such as ADT, Checkpoint, etc... Scottj

What CD is supplied? Geo does not provide "demo CD's" with their products if it is in fact a genuine Geo product. You can send me the serial number on the board and I can verify if it is authentic, at which that point I can help you. If it is an Ebay Geo board with pirated software, you are out of luck. Scottj

Have just purchased a cheap 4ch DVR card off eBay
scottj replied to MRWHITE35's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I completely understand, no harm, no foul. There have just been so many people needing Ebay support that rules were put into place to help eliminate the idea of people using pirated software/hardware etc. There are many legitimate dealers/reps in here that sell products with support, and we encourage that method if at all possible. Geovision 1240 DSP Not Working Properly
scottj replied to Automated Surveillance's topic in Geovision
Man...haha I almost forgot what your original problem was, whew! Ok, so you have the GV-1240 with onboard DSP output. When you use the DSP Fullscren capability, you get a black screen in place of actual camera video? I just want to make sure I am on the same level here with you now. Do you get the black screen on both the DVR itself and also the external TV/CCTV monitor? Scottj -
Isn't that SWANN? Scottj

Have just purchased a cheap 4ch DVR card off eBay
scottj replied to MRWHITE35's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I would suggest that you buy your components from a reputable supplier direct, or contact the supplier who sold you the card through Ebay. There are many pirated boards, and we are not to support those in this forum due to rule changes by the site owner and Administrators. Please see the link: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3301 Thanks, Scottj -
Geovision 1240 DSP Not Working Properly
scottj replied to Automated Surveillance's topic in Geovision
Jasper has them installed, can't speak for Rory. That is because your board may not support DirectX 9.0 Rory, probably just version 8.1. The only ATI chipsets that support DX9.0 are the 9550 (a few of them) and 9600 or higher such as the ones these guys are mentioning above. The Catalyst drivers from the ATI site will give you an error message while trying to initialize without the NET Framework updated to the most current patch. Scottj -
No problem too large.....period. Glad all is working as it should. Scott
-
No Rory, he is talking about being able to log in via IE through the standard Web Broweser which will download the OCX. It works, I did it from his machine the other day. Scottj

Geovision 1240 DSP Not Working Properly
scottj replied to Automated Surveillance's topic in Geovision
He needs to have NET Framework installed to run the Catalyst Control Panel through ATI. This way he will actually support the Direct Draw Overlay capability as well as Auto-Detect De-Interlacing feature that his VGA card offers. Without these updates the Catalyst drivers for ATI will not initialize properly. Scottj -
just send me your address in general. I know it works, because when we were looking at your system I was logged in to the MultiView through IE. Scottj
-
You still have the IE browser option, just login vie IE and away you go... Scott

Already taken care of Shay, link sent to both of you guys. Demo at your own risk, I have not tried it yet here. Scottj
