Jasper. Yes that will work, but where you will have issues is once you login to a different location that has a previous version of the software, you will not be able to login that way again. So in essence, it is only a short lived single location idea. Scottj

High Resolution, what is the definition?
scottj replied to jisaac's topic in General Digital Discussion
410K Pixels is what the industry uses to gauge as "Hi-Res" so I have been told. However, I firmly believe much of it is just Hoopla and is a great method to practice prime marketing strategy. Scottj -

If your customer is large enough and you need SMS for multiple employees, then go with the modem purchase and do it that way through their secure network. If it is just a few people, it may be best to have them purchase "credits" from www.ipipi.com and use that method. Scottj

yeah that works too. Scottj

just cut the wires and splice them. It can't be all that great quality as it is with those cheapo barrel connectors. Scott -

Most mount the cameras on the building looking out at the pump islands, I think you were thinking to mount the cams at the pump islands? No need, just use good cameras with the right lenses and you will be all set to go. Scottj

dvr card & software recommendation?
scottj replied to deor's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
yep...agreed -
It just depends on the VIA set. SOme work, some are unstable and conflict with the VGA chipset if not matched. I agree, I have made Geo work fine with AMD 64 also, no probs. Scottj
-
We use the Geo systems in gas stations and they work flawless. All have the POS overlay and search functions included whether they are using Gilbarco or Ruby POS systems with pump controllers. Scottj

You are getting a video lost error beep (not bip). Either connect cameras to fix the issue, or deavtivate the camera channels you are not using. Scottj

Sort of an unrelated story here, but I need to share this: Speaking of "special" cams, my toilet in my house backup on the lower Atrium level yesterday. I though to mysel "House is 2 years old, give me a XXXXXXXX break!" The flush just wasn't going to go down, I did everything but drop a bunker buster in there and still no luck.. Called a Plumber (415.00 later) he runs a camera snake down my outside sewer from the house and we watch his little B/W monitor as he controls this remote control camera (tonka truck) down the crap pipe. Not a sight for an easy stomach, but interesting to say the least. All of a sudden the tonka cam stops and hits a bright red and yellow something...Something turned out to be a toy, Imagine that! a Toy in my crap pipe. Last time I checked, my GF and I don't eat plastic toys, so there was only one culprit.....my son (age 9). I call him up and after a few minutes of threatening to remove his spine he ups and confesses to dropping a little firetruck down the throne. When I asked why he just didn't reach in there and grab it instead of flushing it he tells me "There was poop in there too Daddy" I see his point. Long story short, the pipe needs to be dug out which is on a 30 degree incline into a wooded area of my home. It happens to also be about 20 feet underground at that point where the pipe needs to be cleared. The Plumber tried ramming the camera into it and wound up breaking his tonka cam. Happy Holidays people! The damage is about $8000.00 to dig the yard up and replace everything back to normal. What a bargain, I may think seriously about being a Plumber...... Scottj

Well taking on half of the States apartment housing seems to be a giant step in the opposite direction, assuming you were to get the bid of course. Scottj

Just tell your customer to lay down on the ground on his side and watch the video, then bill him a few hours labor for it. Scottj
