  1. Unless you back it up with external lighting. Using LED flood lamps has worked very well for me.

    Mini nvr questions

    https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/usb/proc_usb_info.txt
  3. Excellent information, thank you! I'm sitting on 2.39 Beta on my 7600, afraid to go forward after seeing the other firmware shenanigans. Is it possible to downgrade the NVR firmware if needed?
  4. Hikvision camera firmware 5.20, it's like the Windows ME of software. 1 step forward and 3 steps back. What is your recommended combination of firmwares for the NVR/camera combo?
  5. FWIW, V3.0.8 Build 140830 is up on the European site. Maybe Support intelligent IP camera means better integration?
  6. Check out Bullet Camera V http://www.hikvision.com/UploadFile/image/Hikvision%20Installation%20Manual%20of%20Network%20Dome%20Camera%20%20V3.0.0.pdf When all else fails, RTFM.
  7. Thank you, the education is appreciated. OT: The HD camera tech is moving pretty fast it seems, (note cheaper prices on 3MP cams verses the smaller MP cams) any new sensor breakthroughs on the horizon?
  8. Weird that a reset didn't clear it out... I remember running into that at some point when stumbling around the NVR but don't remember exactly what I did yo re-order the menu. I may have deleted the active cams and manually assigned their info to the in-active.
  9. You have tried clicking on the edit pencil icon next to the unused camera?
  10. Can you explain why that is... something to do with the lens or? Thanks!

    Dahua firmware

/Pulls Hydra outa the box... //sigh "You cannot make another post so soon after your last." We under a spam attack?
  12. You added nothing to the conversation other than to spam your cheap, overpriced merchandise? /Reported
  13. Camera configuration accessed through the browser.

    Dahua firmware

    You keep using that word...
  15. 5.16 firmware available here: http://wrightwoodsurveillance.com/forum/thread-83.html
  16. What does "not capable of using the video analytics from the cameras" mean? Does this mean the NVR won't register the event and record or does this mean it will not access the camera's configuration controls or...? Which NVR's are "capable"? I think any installer who sells a poorly supported beta product to their customer will deserve their future lack of business, only Costco can get away with this.
  17. The tech is moving fast & is splintered by proprietary interests making the accumulation of "all inclusive" knowledge difficult. At this point you are going to have to spend some time and do a lot of reading (several different forums available) and find helpful souls willing to share their knowledge. One of the better resources for reviews and information is the Network Camera Critic blog. http://www.networkcameracritic.com/ Good luck!
  18. For me it seems to work like the NVR, a click or 2 of the button speeds it up a little. It's not really "fast" forward but faster forward? I don't use continuous recording, event recording suits my needs speed & time wise to check for items of interest. Maybe try exporting to your local for a faster parsing with your media software of choice?

    Hikvision DVR DS-7204 HVI-Sn

7204HVI-S(build_2009.03.14)_EN.zip is on the Hikvision US server. User: hikfirmware PW: Hikvision123 ftp://ftp.hikvisionusa.com/Hikvision_DVR_Firmware/DS-7204HVI-S/7204HVI-S(build_2009.03.14)_EN.zip
  20. Sorry, running on no sleep.. could have sworn you asked about PZT. The Hik 2532 is a sweet mini-dome, installing one now. Low IR coverage "up to 10m", it does come in 2.8mm wide angle lens but some of the 2.8mm lens cameras aren't as clear due to poor factory lens adjustment. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/products_show.asp?id=9127 The DS-2CD2132-I dome is another good option for the 2.8mm lens and better IR coverage "10 to 30 meters". http://www.hikvision.com/en/products_show.asp?id=7330 If you want the better IR coverage & a little easier installation at a better price point you can't beat the Hik DS-2CD2032-I bullet in a 4mm. http://www.hikvision.com/en/products_show.asp?id=7326
  21. Interesting... for grins I have pulled my files off a camera (using FTP) and opened the ipc_db with a Hex editor. I have no idea what I'm doing. ;-D Is the write-ahead log file what he'd be looking for? Is WAL (write ahead logging) enabled by default?
  22. You may want to look into the Dahua 3MP 3.6MM Mini Pan/Tilt Video (ipc-hdb4300f-pt). Bang for buck it looks like a contender for a PT digital Zoom unless you want to spend a bunch more. http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb4300f-pt-708.html
