In 5.16 you would have to also enable the menus as they don't display until 5.20. I have no idea how this is done but the API calls (ISAPI Image Service manual located on the disc) may give a clue.

The question of dual recording has come up. I would assume your camera has "CCCH" in it's serial number making it a Chinese version. 2nd assumption, the 3132 is the same as the 2132 only sold in China. If this is in fact so, flashing with English 2132 version firmwares (using tftp) will cause your language menus to display in Chinese if you flash anything newer than the multilingual 5.10 firmware. This can be fixed either using the Hex edit hack (temporary, needs reworking with each version) or the CBX region change fix (permanent, works with all current versions). Firmwares can be downloaded from the regional Hikvision web and FTP sites.

Thanks, the Hik firmware leaves me concerned once again. I'm hoping someone with the skills will start offering custom firmwares. I checked my 2132 and don't see a reset on it either.

Note the firmware version referenced is V2.3.4_20130716. The NVR should come with at least 2.37 if not higher at this time and is currently at 2.39. Check the release notes for your firmware of choice for current settings.
