    ip surveillance network design

FWIW, if you are getting the Hikvision NVR the newer firmware 2.39 has implemented a virtual host which should get around the the loop back and free up the used POE port. /Texas, the same as Oklahoma only bigger.
  4. Have you tried a different router? Something not controlled by your ISP preferably...
  5. Keep an eye on Adblock Plus, it's been known to block scripts and xml rquests in the Hik browser gui.
  6. No more Hikvision loop back to get to the camera? An interesting note from aster1x in another forum on the Virtual Host function:
  7. Are up on the US Hik server. ftp://ftp.hikvisionusa.com/Hikvision_DVR_Firmware/DS-76xxNI-SE(P)/ User: hikfirmware PW: Hikvision123 Edit earlier post: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=42179
  8. From the release notes: Compatible IP Camera Information: 1. Password hint: A notification suggesting modifying password will pop up if user logs in with default username and password: admin/12345. Password complexity will also be tested and shown when modifying password: --Below 6 characters: weak;--6 to 11 characters: all numbers -> weak; Number + lowercase + uppercase letter + symbol -> strong, rest cases->fair; --Above 11 characters: all numbers -> fair , rest cases -> strong. 2. Password recovery: A password recovery file can be exported in user configuration menu after user logs in with admin account. With this recovery file, user can reset password in the password recovery menu. 3. Default parameter: https disabled, full-day continuous record schedule enabled, motion detection enabled, sensitivity set to be 4, telnet disabled. 4. Connect general IPCs with maximum resolution(record parameter is set as continuous one, no matter whether events are triggered or not), frame rate set as 8 continuous /15 event(if maximum resolution not support 8/15, then use the maximum resolution that supports 8/15), bitrate set as optimum rate, image quality: mainstream-higher , sub stream-higher, others as previous setting. 5. When switching continuous record resolution, event record resolution changes simultaneously. If frame rate does not support, display Full Frame. Under General, if bit rate does not support, display Maximum bit rate. 6. DST is set to be enabled. 7. Menu button on remote now can control the full-screen function in tag playback tab. Playback 1. Added a button in right-click menu to enter playback menu. 2. Added a feature using mouse scroll wheel to control the zoom in/out of time bar in playback menu. 3. Added Smart Search in playback full screen. 4. Modification of Playback menu: Added today button, time go-to button, playback status. Modified play button, and video clips function. 5. Original parameters saved. 7. Added sub stream correction function. 8. Added display remaining record time in both HDD management and camera management menus.(display N/A if no IPC); 9. Added Single Frame playback button in playback; 10. Display channel name under channel selection box and in playback sidebar(no changes in web UI); Web UI 1. Support up to 4-channel playback; 2. IPC version information can be displayed in web UI; 3. Keep the same as Native UI in terms of record schedule type colors; 4. Added virtual host function. Disable virtual host by default. Go to Configuration->Network Settings->Advanced->Enable Virtual Host if needed. Bug 1. Corrected the faulty connection with DS-2CD2014WD-l and DS-2CD2114WD-l via PoE interface. 2. Corrected the invalidation of video loss when enabled in web UI. 3. Corrected loss of watermark in NVR’s record files when using Raptor DS-2CD2xx2 and DS-2CD4xxx series IPC.
  9. Did you read the release notes? It looks like they are forcing 5.2 camera firmware for most.
  10. I probably got it from you like most of my Hik tips. It was in my RSTP notes with no attribution or link. I used it in FF to test when the question came up, nothing cool like what you have going... that's a little over my head at this time.
  11. Sorry, no clue on the bandwidth question. I am still learning about the system myself.
  12. Interesting observations on 2.39 event tracking, I have no answers but will be following. It got me too when I updated to 2.38, it should be on the Maintenance screen on the lower left side (red dot). If it is missing you may want to reset to default and see if it shows up then.
  13. http://User:PW@IP/Streaming/channels/2/picture works with 5.2.0.
  14. Works here in 5.1.6 but not in 5.2.0.

Greets aggierockdoc from Okrahoma. I'm not sure why #4 has been recommended (fail safe?) but it will interfere with #2 on a Hikvision NVR network as most of the traffic seems to take place on the NVR's separate POE connected subnet. Which switch are you referring to? Much of this is going to revolve around your NVR and how it's set up. This is kind of how I have the Hikvision NVR set up. It connects to a gigabit switch as well as has a loop back from the NVR POE ports into the gigabit switch in order to port the cameras over to my local LAN subnet. In my case the gigabit switch is connected to my firewall which is then connected to my modem.
  16. You may want to be cautious on buying Hikvision 2.8mm lenses. there is a bad batch out. [MOD: Link to eternal forum removed]

    IR CUT Cameras

A little OT... Would it stand to reason that some of the posts I've read about pink or purple tinting could be caused from either the lack of of poor IR filter?
  19. Thank you, I was unsure on the mike. The reports on IR bleed I have read were not followed up on by the OP's. I saw reports of IR bleed with the 2132 as well and had no problems with it. Thanks again!
  20. I'm going to bump this up to ask if the IR bleed is a common issue with this camera. Also, has anyone tried the IS model and found a reasonable microphone solution?
  21. Dynamic DNS is what you're looking for. Try this: Great info on Port Forwarding viewtopic.php?f=12&t=12156
  22. My bad, I thought I'd seen a tech bulletin on flash drive compatibility.
