Been trying to work out using two monitors from a Geo pc,set the graphics card up for 2 monitors, went into gv system and used the dmpos exe. to configure it also. Worked but quality of second monitor was poor. What im after is to put this pc in a loft and run a cable to a lcd monitor which is connected to my main pc.It has lots of inputs spare dvi , s-video phono etc even rgb. The loft pc can be used as a single monitor as it will be controlled by a geo ir remote using a cat5 usb extender, so im looking for the cheapest (or best) way to extend it about 70 feet away from the monitor. If using the s-video only out of the graphic card through a s-vid to phono adapter give me good screen quality or is it best to run a vga that distance

Pci express is the latest and bestest Most new pc's now come with these, no reason why they wont work but not needed for any boards to date. -
Why not stick a wireless camera in the car , tune it in to a vcr or dvr. If all they want is to see is whose snooping around the car

Nice to hear you have it up and running. Fps for the X50v is 8 as it tells you in the screen when you are connected to the Geo.

Cheers Scott. In ptz setup my camera is not listed , can i add a default one? after listing ptz device it goes on to ptz setup, i know the address is 12 and the baud is 2400 and the protocol is d. These settings are not taken affect until the cam is iniciated. Ive linked the 232/485 convertor into com1, well theres only one com port. I tell a lie theres two. The smaller port vga size is that normally com 2 ? -

Looks and smells of Ebay, but this time a happy end. Dip switches were marked wrong on manual, received new settings and it works a treat. -
Fitted 2 sata 300gig hd's on a gv-1000 and the nightime activity of spiders is really munching away on the storage. I have a couple of (well5) cams with ir in and the little b------s love them! Iknow the rule of thumb is not to use ir cams and go for seperate ir but these cams are really to notch. Is there a successful method to treat the cams to keep them off?i mentioned earlier i have used a feater duster taped to a 16 foot 2x1 but this only keeps them at bay for 24 hours. This problem will soon get worse as the dark nights set in,any tips

Rory, GV650, 750, 800, 900, 1000 cards, if installed onto motherboards with VIA chipsets, will generate unstable clocking. These models use the "Hint" chip set for PCI bus control, and this Intel Hint chip set conflicts with VIA chip set. Therefore, please avoid using motherboards with VIA chipsets. Intel chipsets, SIS, and lots of other brand names are good. GV250 or GV600 do not have HINT chip sets, therefore, they are OK with VIA chip set mother boards. Hope this helps

The cam gives a great pq ,dont move tho Dont know if i caused any damage sending 12v dc down the rs convertor as the housing is 24 vac, even tho thats what it has marked on. Please -

Dip switches are nos 1-12, in the manual it mentions dips 1-8 and 1-6....? 1-8 are for cam id 1-4 are for protocol and 5-6 for baud rate. I wish i had checked before i fitted as its a long walk 16 foot up a ladder then back down then back up into the loft The dips on the dome dont match what the manual say's so im a bit stuck WTF next -

Thanks VST, tried with 12v and without, no go. I am trying it on a second stand alone which has a 485 port. i have set it up as pelcop d (this is supported in dvr menu) the dvr doesn't have baud rate settings , but the dome is factory default at 2400. Also the camera is id1 by default settings,so i have changed camera id in dvr to suit. If the dvr has no baud rate settings do i have to play with them at the dome?
