Hi, i have a stand alone dvr and it wont show the cams on the pc, i think its a software problem,is it possible to configure say for instance Kodicom software to make it work?
-
See what you mean, tends to devalue the product,im in construction and the large diy outlets dont help me either! Ive ordered the Kodicom copy or whatever it is , as for the money it is its worth a try.

I noticed that too! I'm getting tired of looking now, what i need is....... 8 channel, video loop through, decent hard drive(250 gig) with the ability to add another.overwrite hdd when full, motion detection, auto boot on power fail, usb or firewire connections, ethernet connections for lan/wan,support dynamic ip,ir remote,at least 2 channel audio. Does it exist and work reliably?

How about this one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5770334035&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Are they Argus, are they unreliable as the lan capability is needed?

Just rebooted everything again from scratch, still no joy. It worked briefly when i first set it up and no changes have been made to the pc or router since. I will get some adapters to convert the straight lead to a crossover and see what happens before i show the dvr the door. In the meantime ive ordered a Kodicom 880,hope this works. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated . Bob

On the router i have been using dynamic for the ip addresses, this seemed to work ok as the dvr has the dynamic facility. From what ive heard the router i have is not the easiest to configure for static ip addresses. When i go into router diagnostics they show to have their own addresses and are enabled and working on a ping, bearing this in mind when telnet also connects ,is it down to the dvr or software?
-
The dvr comes with a ir remote and the password and all the functions are ok when this is used viewed on a tv using monitor out.
-
Its 30m away from the pc,however i can get connectors to convert the cable to crossover, if i connect the dvr to the pc direct is this a way to view thw cams?
-
Yeah, client software that came with the dvr.
-
Typed it in again word perfect still no video, if telnet finds it does it mean its a software issue?
-
Rory , do you mean connect the dvr into the pc direct?
-
yes sorted the telnet typing , screen just goes black with a flashing cursor,
-
Rory, still no sure about the TELNET thing. is it Start run type cmd ?
-
I have just rebooted and still the same,at first the disconnect button dint light up it stayed on connect even when it was connected, now it confirms disconnect but no video.
-
Dvr ip is 192.168.0.3, router range is 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.52, pc is at 192.168.0.2
-
ive only tried on a lan up to now,not sure how to view remotely? Rory when you say telnet could you explain please?

Thanks again, only thing is , this is not it http://www.koreacctv.com/eng/images/item/367_n.pdf This is it http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/digital-recorder.htm second one down on page(7223) it gives the specs and manual inc setup guide. The port in the manual asks for 3333 so this is what i have been using, can it use another port?
