Hamachi networking software could be your best friend .
Potlvr420 posted a topic in Computers/Networking
Ok people heres a little special info for all you ppl remote viewing etc. If you use Hamachi on your server and on client machine you never have to worry about port forwarding etc... No dyndns or no-ip either. Hamachi is a tunneling networking program that takes your i-net connections and acts like your private lan.. We setup all our servers with it and with vnc we fix 90 percent of problems from office.. Even when idiots reset routers and cant figure out why remote viewing doesnt work.. We vnc into their Hamachi ip. Then log into their router and fix the problems. Anyway its FREE and an awsome little utility that im sure some of you all will enjoy. Just google search for it and you will find it. So easy and simple to setup and gets around all router problems. -

Yes Rory its like VPN only better. Networking Adminstrator turned me on to it. If you play around with it you will see its potential. Its very secure and you can setup several different networks and used in conjunction with RDM or vnc is very secure as if you dont port forward in router only way to access is with Hamachi ip. No i wasnt volunteering to take over any of your alls machines or nothing crazy like that. Thats pretty ridiculous to think that. I just wanted to share little helpfull info with you all but as allways someone takes info wrong way and wants to start bashing. If ppl pay us to install alarms and cameras i believe they should trust us to maintain their servers etc.. We only put this on camera only servers. -
Ok ive read on other sites about class action against Geovision? Would like your alls opinion on this. Geovision promised lifetime upgrades and now they want you to send your old cards in and a fee for new cards to be able to update. I believe this is unfair and ridiculous. This doesnt help control piracy. Ill bet money within this month there will be fake Geovision cards running 8.0 software on ebay soon. I believe this is a bad business desision on Geovisions part allthough there is a clone problem now adays but this isnt the way to curb this. Let me here your input on this. I dont condone fake cards by no means but believe this is wrong.

Guys unfornuately most of our client database isnt very smart in computers. Im looking for a utility that they could click on and it would auto change the axtivex settings in i-explorer so their remote pc will download the activex plugins. Ive looked on geovision pages and havent saw anything. Its just kinda hard to try to explain to them how to manually change settings. Like a batch file of some sort. Anyone know of such a thing?

Potlvr420 replied to Gobal's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I believe anykeeper software or kd-net software will work with these cards. I use kd-net for mine and it works ok except with router i cant connect with just i explorer . Remote view works fine with software though -
Only problem ive had with magicradar is if a router is hooked up the inet viewer doesnt work ive tried dmz forwarding ports still no go but the remote software works fine with router.

Help on changing logos or skins on Geovision
Potlvr420 posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Maybe one of the brains here could help. I work for small security company and we subcontract for a big outfit in Texas and when we added some cameras to their Geo system the skin was different then factory software. They had there company name and logos on the Geo controll applet. It was very cool and we would like to do some of that with our Geovision out there. Great advertising tool !! -
You can d/l 7.0 from several site but i got keypro error on cards i tried on so i must need the dongle or use hasp emulator. Any try Yahoo search for Geovision 7.0 download and you will find it

Did you recently update the Geovision Software?
-
Dont know much about the wireless camera part but if using geovision cards it would be very easy to add 4 with the same ip and use no-ip to make all of them act like static ips. Just setup a drug rehab with 4 different dvrs on one dynamic ip. No-ip is kewl and free

Ive used Bios Cracking programs before but you have to be able to boot either A or Cdrom drive. If you can do that then BiosKiller or 1 of those programs to default bios

Help on changing logos or skins on Geovision

hehe Thats kewl. scot did you get that private msg with email addy? -
Ok . I have a cheap dvr card which does all i need it to do. Problem i have is with built in web viewer. I know how to port foward and all that good stuff. If i use the dvr client it works fine. Web viewer though never works. I read in other threads that it uses Apache type server on port 80 ive forwarded that port also to my dvr pc and no luck except if im inside the lan. Cant access from outside. Ive unhooked router and had cable pump to just dvr machine and was able to access from any machine. That tells me there is other ports that it must also use. I even tried assigning dmz to the dvr pc with no luck. Ive tried to monitor ports with Port logger from Microsoft but it shows port 80 being used but other ports are never the same so im up for suggestions!! Please Help

Anykeeper Software
Potlvr420 replied to ruffedge's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Site is not there i just logged on to it -
ok guys its not activex problem, its not firewall in sp2. Its an issue only when the darn router is hooked up. I started with Anykeeper then i read in here about Magic Radar so i tried it. I like the software better so i stayed with it. Its a port issue for sure. We only use Geovisions or Digicam cards at work and never have these problems. Hell at one client ( Drug rehab ) we have 3 different Geovision dvrs running on same ip and it was easy as hell to setup in router. We used No-ip port redirector to make all 3 work were the client doesnt even have to put in :port after address.

Its a lynksys router . It connects to it but then doesnt show a picture so i believe another port streams the video
