    Which camera?

you could get an analog camera and run coax back to a monitor or tv with a analog input. usually monitor or tv will have a yellow rca input or bnc.
  2. never used the T connectors except in some very old networking stuff using coax.(Token Ring?) I did not test any of the other connectors but never had any problems with them.
  3. I have had no problems with any of these suppliers CCTV Imports was a supplier we used for several years and I never had a problem with any connectors purchased there, Same with the others
  4. cctv imports, PI MFG. monoprice . many other online cctv sellers
  5. Ideal makes all those connectors I don't have pricing but I would go for quality how much does it cost to chase down trouble. cut off connectors. and retest. I bet more than the connector. Several quality mfgs can supply whatever you need I would pick one and then buy their termination tools as sometimes they vary just enough to cause issues. I have seen ideal and other mfgs at the big box stores as well as places like Graybar and ADI

Need advice on which IP cam

You should always be concerned about who is going to handle returns warranty and software patches. If support does come directly from china you may be out of luck or wait a long time for a replacement.

    RG59 Siamese cable quality

Are you thinking of using this in your house or selling it to a customer? There is probably a reason you are getting a good price they cannot sell this because of code or installers do not want to take a chance on it.

Cameras going black with white wavy lines at night...

check the power at the camera it may be your power supply is going out and not getting enough power to the cameras when IRs come on

    Newbie Installer needs help

A little more info please what kind of power supply are you using baluns I am guessing you are using analog cameras? did you test each camera by disconnecting all the others?

    CAT6 Cabling over 150meters

If you only have one camera that is out of limits you could try an POE extender but I have had better luck with an intmediate switch that with the passive POE extenders.

Day/Night IR cams WITHOUT built in IR (Suggestions Pls)

It will be easier to find outdoor rated cameras with built in IRs , in your price range, most if not all allow you via software to disable the IRs so you would still have a day night camera and you could use your external light source.

    Fiber Network Design Guidance required.

I would look at an alternative to a fiber run that long Wireless some thing like ubiquity air fiber will be a lot cheaper. If you have internet access at both sites. you could place the nvr near the cameras and remote in. IF running fiber is really your only option make sure to run something like 12 strand or more as you may want to tie in other ethernet devices.
  13. hopefully the mod will get rid of this spammer I agree if you have some advice you give it on the forum. I would not give access to my computer/DVR to an unknown source willingly. Also threats seem a bit out of place on the forum. Tom has given out a lot of valuable advise over the years and it is appreciated.
  14. try a seperate power supply on one camera and see if the IRs work I would also check the power at the cameras to see if you are getting adaquate voltage to power the IRs
  15. I need to use commas more. LED lighting is coming in and will be POE powered and several mfg have networked access control system that power door strikes and card readers via POE.
  16. I would just run cat 6 and run spares where you think you might add an IP device in the future phone led light access control etc etc. If you use cat 6 it is often 23 gauge and there has been talk of upping the POE power for some devices so the 23 gauge would carry a little more current. Make sure you are using solid copper from not cca.
  17. What mike do you have as previous posted stated and do you have correct power and cable for that mike
  18. I would also change out the barrel connector and any other patch cords/connectors it will only cost a few dollars and will eliminate those items as a trouble spot.

To Build or to Buy, That is the question? I think :)

you can use a stand alone NVR with built in POE if you want with out having to get a PC and a POE switch. You will find that IP devices are becoming more common led lights door locks etc are being run on cat5/6 cable if you wire your house with coax you will be mostly limited to its use with cameras.

    New Home System

I would go IP it sounds like the installer is either trying to unload some older equip or is not up to speed on IP systems.

Want to run 2 DVRs simultaneously

could you have the dvr backed up to a NAS or cloud live. I have seen some services that will keep a certain number of days video stored on their servers before deleting it. If you have a NAS on your network it would go stop recording when the dvr is shutdown.

    CCTV

need more info on make model of NVR. I know that geovision has a provision for multiple monitors and would guess that other mfgs and software would have the same also look and see if you have a spot monitor function on your nvr/dvr usually you can pick what cameras you want to show up on the spot monitor.

    CCTV Camera issue

could be a cable problem as you have replaced everything else have you tested the cable and connectors as well as any patch cords if any.
