After market heater options for IP bullets and domes
jeromephone replied to mabar1's topic in Security Cameras
I would try a heated housing around a current camera they can be found for as low as 50.00 or so. We have done this in a carwash to give additonal protection to cameras that were subject to spray and cold weather. -
Cameras And Fields Of View For IP POE Home Security System
jeromephone replied to sichuan's topic in System Design
you must have used one of the many FOV caculators that are available online for your planned layout if not there is one on this forum. If you have picked a mfg for your camras why not just purchase one each of the domes with the different lenses then you can temp install them and view on laptop or your nvr. when you have done this you will know your exact count and what lenses you need/ The only way to really tell what you are going to see is what you want is to place a camera and see what the pic is like. -
Adding Lift alarm to your CCTV network
jeromephone replied to hrishi_mc's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If you were in the US you would have to have a phone in the elevator to call a central emergency number. I do not know what your requirements are but if you have fiber to the cab you could possibly use some kind of VOIP phone or if you have copper an analog phone. I think the phone is a good option as there may be an emergency unrelated to equipment failure -
After market heater options for IP bullets and domes
jeromephone replied to mabar1's topic in Security Cameras
My guess would be if you did use a heat tape type of solution seperate power may be necessary. I know that Geovision does have a line of cold weather cameras. You can get heated housings pretty cheap now but you still have the problem of getting 24vac, for most housing, to them. -

Advice needed on PoE cameras and system for training clinic
jeromephone replied to gradstudent's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
we did a training room at a hosiptal using an AXIS camera with a built in microphone and it worked well. It has been a couple of years so you will have to check current model numbers. -
you need to check your state's laws as they may have differing requirements. In our state video can be recorded in a public area but if audio is recorded a notice has to be posted. If you are going to record audio the microphone may need to be in a different location than the camera.

you can get a lens field of view tool off from this forum so that should answer your lens option question. What kind of budget do you have ?

Outdoor speaker for CCTV
jeromephone replied to Moensted's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Look at ETS I know that is a US company but the price and number of choices may offset shipping charges. They also have speaker/microphone combinations -
This should probably be in the stand alone forum. Usually passwords might be given to you on a private PM if anyone has that partucular DVR. See if you can find a manual online it may have the default pw in it.

Help ?? Port Forwarding error
jeromephone replied to journey_era's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
is that a POE port. ALso your camera brand should have some type of scanning software that will allow you to see the IP address of the camera and change it if necessary -
Best System Design When NVR/NAS could be Stolen?
jeromephone replied to cigar7's topic in System Design
There is a device that they are attaching to air conditioners that will trip an alarm or relay like what the last poster described I think they call it the whip. If things are this bad on this property I would think you would need more physical security barb wire? more fencing electric fence ? It kind of comes down to how valuable is the asset and how much do you want to spend to protect it. -
Best System Design When NVR/NAS could be Stolen?

If you are getting cable cuts can you bury the entrance cable? Also with on camera storage you should still have a recording even if the outside cables are cut. -
Optic Fiber Installation - First time installation messed up
jeromephone replied to indianpharaoh1977's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
The converter has to be. Hooked up with tx and rx reversed. Check that. You can also shine a light through the fiber to see if you at least have a physical connection. A simple flashlight will work -
Add intentional delay to feed
jeromephone replied to m_g's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
In geovision you can click on the camera's live view and see an event that happened 30 sec ago or I think up to 30 min however it is a little clunky for what you want as it opens the player and then loads the file. -
XinRay Opto-elec. Tech Co. LTD/CCTV & Optical Com - trusted?
jeromephone replied to itskv's topic in System Design
beyond price I would look at warranty policy and turn around time for replacements. -
check the outlet itself we had an outlet at out shop that had that kind of voltage on the ground. Does any of the low voltage cable run next to high voltage?

I think axis has a line of cameras to deal with hallways. I tried another brand in a hallway and the problem was that in this case it was not high enough to give much advantage over putting regular dome cameras looking both ways down a hall.

Connecting Geovision ip cameras to Hikvision
jeromephone replied to newton777's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
make sure your Geo cameras are rated with the onvif protocol as not all of them are. That may not solve the problem but that is the first thing to check. -
Cameras showing black and White after installation.
jeromephone replied to Techno14's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Rg-59 with solid copper core and copper shielding should work if the distance is correct. I would look at your power supply and would take all the cameras off and put them back on one at a time that may tell you if one bad camera is causing the problem. use a properly rated power supply with a little extra capacity as cameras may draw more power due to cable length, heating etc. -
I would check the camera at the NVR to see if it works ok with a short patch cord. If it does I would look at the power at the camera it could be right on the edge of adaquate power.

Best System Design When NVR/NAS could be Stolen?
jeromephone replied to cigar7's topic in System Design
Depending on the number of camras and other requirements I would suggest looking into cloud storage. THere are several companies that will allow you to store several days off site plus they will notify you via your cell phone when any activity takes place. I would look at storage on the camera, offsite storage and no DVR onsite except as maybe a decoy. -
I would not know but you could check with them or the KVM extener MFG.

I guess I was giving my opinion the the trc poster not trying to tell someone else what they should do.
