LTS NVR not providing DHCP to Cameras
jeromephone replied to bokenrosie's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
try taking the nvr off from the network and see if that allows the cameras to be assigned IP addresses generated by the nvr. also check the cameras to see if they are set to dhcp or static. -
Upgrading Hikvision Camera Firmware
jeromephone replied to Bluenose1940's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
you would have to change the IP on either the camera or your pc to match for instance camera is 192.168.254.2 to view directly without going to the NVR you would have to change to and unused address with 192.168.254.66 for example I am guessing the 255.255.255.0 is the same for both. I also think you may have to have the camera and pc on the same switch as the nvr may block direct access to the individual cameras. -
Upgrading Hikvision Camera Firmware
jeromephone replied to Bluenose1940's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
are your cameras and NVRon the same ip addressing scheme. We usualy setup the cameras on their own subnet and have the nvr on the common one. For instance cameras are 10.0.0.55-75 nvr is 192.168.1.67. anywy check that as you may have to have the addressses match up to access the camera directly. -
mounting a camera inside a junction box

google pinhole cameras I think geovision and axis have units that would work. They would be IP but do not think they have a 8 meg camera. -
1080p video over a 15 metre VGA cable.
jeromephone replied to madmandare's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I would reccommend a powered vga etender. Many of them will push the signal 100 feet or more either using a long vga cable or cat5 -
you might need to go the other way make sure the camera has a vent of some kind to prevent moisture from building up. Some cameras have a silica Gel package to help absorb moisture.

Internal IP address keeps changing on Digiview DVR
jeromephone replied to loll_l's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
This is a long shot at best. Make sure the dvr IP is outside of the routers range of dhcp addresses. It is possible that the router does not see the address assigned to the dvr due to power out or something, qnd their may be something wrong with how the dvr sets a static IP. -

Magic Series (Magic Viewer Help)
jeromephone replied to niematoad's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
usually you would have to port forward the internal IP address so that the device can be seen from the outside world. You are seeing in your faciity because you are on the same addressing scheme and subnet -

Looking for smallest IP cameras
jeromephone replied to Brent1971's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
axis has a pinhole camera as do some other brands -
i have a need to send a remote view to a monitor from a geovision system. i have messed about with the decoder box and mobile server and it is not working so I am planning on just having a small mini pc feeding a big screen tv via HDMI. The pc does not need to do anything else other than show the multiview on the TV no apps or other programs. I wonder if anyone has used any of the various brands. KVM extender will not work . I do have wired ethernet at the TV so getting the PC on the network is not a problem.

Upgrading or replacing fibre/coax system
jeromephone replied to SteveROntario's topic in System Design
you can convert the coax and fiber to ethernet and use your existing wiring. Axis, geovision, and several others combine cams and access control. -

Network Tester - False Reading???
jeromephone replied to YeeWin's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
b pattern is the most common. If you keep having problems with plugs try using a jack on your cable and connect your camera with a patch cord. -
It most likley has a torx fastener you should be able to find the bits at an automotive store or hardware. only a few bucks and you will need them anyway to mount camera check setting etc.

Network Tester - False Reading???
jeromephone replied to YeeWin's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
you could have the power wires terminated properely and the other paris mismatched. Your cable tester should show all 4 pairs connected directly to each other brown to brown etc. if not reterminate and try again.
