there are many users, who are happy with KIA Sorento - e.g. Andre Agassi... however some users still buy ML from Mercedes or X5 from BMW...

...and it is depended from the video compression... sometimes "low" means "1Mbps", sometimes "high" means "256Kbps"...

hi all, just try it out: http://www.direx-pro.com/ ID/password: 'test'/'test' Firefox works w/o additional DLL - you will get approx. 1 frame per 2 seconds and probably in poor quality (because push JPEG service) instead of 10-15 FPS with IE and our plugin, but it works: http://direx-pro.dyndns.org PS: please use 'Alt' + 'Cntr' + 'Del' (task manager) to display the network traffic...

I will visit the show / Vegas...

But IE and FireFox support in different kind cgi-scripts and applets, therefore we had to make decision - IE looks like most popular and market stable browser.Although by using FireFox you will get a picture (push JPEG service - approx. 1 frame / 2sec instead 11-20fps via IE plug-in) but not full control functionality.

Our company offers a special automotive DVR - DiREX-Pro.A30: [link edited] This small non-PC based DVR provides embedded web server and is accessible via any TCP/IP connection. It realizes the best video compression/quality ration (approx. 1-150kbps) available today and therefore is also perfect suitable for 3G/UMTS/GPRS (e.g. for emergency connection) or WLAN (e.g. revise needed data after vehicle returned) remote access. Under following URL it is possible to check the video quality and test necessary bandwidth: http://www.direx-pro.com For access to recorded data please use ID/password: "test"/"test"

Hey Guys, PLEASE DON'T DEACTIVATE RECORDING - the "REC" button must be red. In this case the video server will be deactivated as well! This feature is useful for download speed-up. PS: by the way - after REC deactivation in about 1 hour it will be automatically activated...]
-
please do it yourself - for an access to recorded data use:ID/password: "test"/"test" enjoy it!...... PS: end of this week this DVD demo will be switched to live TV station...

we use actually SDSL with 2048 kbps - to provide simultaneously live viewing AND download/viewing of recorded data...Therefore if you looking JUST for live transmitting 128 kbps upload speed is enough. It is possible to activate display of FPS, data rate, total rate (means video + audio), activity level etc.: right mouse button on video area -> "Show Msn Properties" -> "Subtitle options"....

If you are looking for motion-controlled recording, our DIREX-Pro.R120 (2x60GB HDDs inside, release date: approx. August 2005) can be a nice solution for your application:http://www.bwa-technology.de/en/direx_pro/specif.html But generally due to low power consumption and special firmware procedures for extension of HDD’s durability, all our DiREX-Pro.xxx DVRs are really reliable unit as well. PS: 100GB means approx. 3-4 weeks UNINTERRUPTED recording from 4 cameras with about 1.5-2 fps/channel.

our MPEG4 demo is on-line, just follow instructions:http://www.direx-pro.com 12-16 fps with audio: approx. 90-120KB/s (right mouse click on video area to activate FPS & transfer rate display)

@Rory It is just a "small" device... e.g. it's possible to control (RS485) speed domes as well... All advantages here (PDF, 174KB): http://www.bwa-technology.de/download/direx_pro/dpro.40&a30.pdf Only our DiREX-Pro.A30 is suitable for extended temperature range. For your region it looks like no so important, but by car usage (due to greenhouse effect) the environment temperature can rise... And really important think - how rapid (temperature gradient) the internal temperature drop after activation of the air conditioning control?... Do you mean "video coding"?The question is - how do you like to access the stored data?... By high compression codec it's possible to (if required automatically) download it via WiFi during garage visiting... DiREX-Pro.A30 needs normally no any additional vibration protection - we use special automotive HDDs from Hitachi:http://www.hitachigst.com/portal/site/en/menuitem.7ac8dfe56eb1da5daa67bca4bac4f0a0/ And we tested our devices by Paris-Dakar rally already: http://www.bwa-technology.de/download/direx_pro/paris_dakar.zip Fan-free operation makes it possible... Because our devices are still not FCC proved and we have no any local US support, we offer our equipment at the moment to (suppliers) of governmental users only.Negotiations with some US CCTV players are underway and I hope in June/July we start to ship our NTSC products via OEM channels. Please refer this description:http://www.bwa-technology.de/download/direx_pro/dpro_progman.pdf An additional documentation will be available soon. -
