I am looking for a good dome camera to hang under the eaves outside my home. The camera will sit about 13ft high and will need to look at distances of about 65 feet. Will be installing this at 4 locations, two of which will have some light at night due to motion sensing flood lights. The other two will be dark at this point. I will be installing motion sensing lights there as well. I already have a Nuvico DVR and a bullet at my front door. Looking at CV-SD21N-L outdoor dome camera. Any opinions on this particular camera? I am open to other brands as well if they are comparable or better than CV-SD21N-L. My budget is about $300/camera. Thanks.

Do you know where these kids live? Do you know their parents? If you know who they are, you should go talk to their parents and tell them you have their kids on surveillance video and you will file criminal complaints and sue them if this isn't stopped at once. Moreover if you can get identifiable video when they throw eggs, etc. the police won't be able to do nothing and twiddle their thumbs. So the IR iluminator should help.

Shocking. You do have the right to live in peace and not have people trespass on your property. May be you need to put up a No Trespass sign. If my township police/prosecutor said that to me, I would have taken the complaint to the US Attorney's office in my state and failed a complaint against them. In my case, the fact that I caught them and police acted on it helped because we haven't had the problem since. Keep your chin up and don't stand for this.

When you catch them in the act finally let us know. I have had trouble with some punks kicking & banging my doors at late nights. Finally had enough, installed Nuvico bullet and gave the videos to police. They identified the punks and tried to convince me to agree to what they call station house adjustment where the punks gets away with slap on the wrist in the form of promise to not do it again. I rejected that and told them to proceed with filing criminal complaint with county prosecutor. The parents were supposed to be very sorry and offered to pay for my camera equipment cost. I refused as I hold these sorry excuses for parents completely responsible for the miserable punks they raised. I told the police that these punks must have juvenile records and I will settle for nothing less. I wanted more deterrence than just a slap on the wrist. What troubles me is a girl coming over and showing you the finger in the video. Just the lack of respect for the fellow human being. I would give the video to police now and get her hauled to the station. Good luck.

Sawbones, you are nicer man than I am. May be because we have been harassed for over a year now and always very late in the night when we are in bed asleep. When I get the video, I am going straight to the police station and filing a criminal complaint and will pursue till they pay a price that will deter them from ever doing it to us or anyone else again.

I am confused. I need to have sign to monitor outside of my home? I can't record audio? I am getting harassed by some teens who come over to my home at midnight, kick my door and run away. I don't know if this is a real home invasion or just some punks doing it, till I jump out of my bed and turn the lights on and go to the door. So far, it has always been some punks. I have just installed Nuvico CB-HD2P-L at my front door. I had called 911 in the past and the cops tell me they are busy with accidents and robberies, etc. I want to record them and file a criminal complaint. I want to record audio of them kicking my door. Is recording the audio illegal? That makes no sense to me if it is illegal.
