I think if you approach the job as if you were doing for yourself, you will do the job to you and your clients satisfaction. You have to really get to know your clients needs and situation regarding their site. When you use solid products from time tested companys like GE, Sanyo, Panasonic, ect, it pays off with repeat contracts and referals. "any job worth doing is worth doing right." an old quote.

whole new Breed of DVR GE's Symdec vsr-4-300
blowrabbit replied to blowrabbit's topic in Digital Video Recorders
it uses software called Video Navigator. it is not wavereader and they are not compatable but whos to say you couldnt run both on a desktop. you do need a cpu /pentiun 2.8GHz or faster, 512 MB RAM, Windows 2000 SPA4, XP SP2. interesting to note all controlls are via a pc or remote keyboard as the unit has no local controlls. check out symnav software at... http://www.gesecurity.com/portal/site/GESecurity/menuitem.f76d98ccce4cabed5efa421766030730?selectedID=668&seriesyn=false&t=prod -
whole new Breed of DVR GE's Symdec vsr-4-300
blowrabbit replied to blowrabbit's topic in Digital Video Recorders
regarding the symdec, it does not use wavelet it use's a sophisticated algorithm, Mpeg4. This kind of compression acts like motion detection as it only records the changing images, unlike other types of compression. So this dvr does 4 channels each at 30fps for a total of 120fps . D1 in four channels at once. -

Dome Cameras in Drop Ceilings
blowrabbit replied to fas's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
ive found that if its a drop ceiling its best to take a same size 1/4" sheet of plywood and use construction adhesive [caulking gun type] between the plywood and the acoustic tile ,they have quick grab adheisive that sets in minutes or you can set it on the floor with weight on it till it sets and if needed you can use that adhesive to glue the tile panel to the grid. use standard bolts with washers for the dome and your good to go. only a ptz would need additional support for the weight. the glued up panel is very strong. -
on the new dvrme can you get say a 10 channel unit with 80 gigs and then install 640 gigs or more? in other words are the power supplys inside the unit the same whether your getting 80 or 640 gigs. i think the drives up to four of them need to be 5400 rpm drives.

intesting though, why he couldnt hang on is because of the momentum of his body weight pivots at his forearms prying his hands away from the ledge he first held onto. so yea hes a jackass.

Best type of crimpable BNC connector?
blowrabbit replied to RichTJ99's topic in General Digital Discussion
i have found the best test of a connection is try to pull it off of the cable. if it moves at all its a bad connection if it stays its good. being a sophmore to this bussiness i now use the waterproof compression connectors at $1.50 a piece but they are bullit proof. -

i recently had a demo on site with a new sanyo tiger dvr. i was not impressed at all with the "ROI" region of interest function that was supposed to take a selected portion of the video and greatly enhance it at the expense of the rest of the picture. i really could not see any difference? has anyone else used this dvr and tried this??

has anyone on a 16channel ge dvrme ct-A 600 had the experiance of the first three channels of audio being kinda jerky and the channels after those with no problem? i wonder if because of long term use of the first couple channels and not the others the audio problems might occur in them?? this is happening remotely with wavereader using good speed connections.

dvrme and audio performance remotely
blowrabbit replied to blowrabbit's topic in Digital Video Recorders
well lol, of course not. what i mean is the audio lays down on any one of the 16 channels you choose. its just that it seems to remotely playaback better on some channels ? -
hey i can check if i get off my ... but if we were to do some sort of cctv meeting of the minds we could at least write off the cost of the adventure in paradise for a few days. no doubt many like myself could learn lots from the experience.
