I got a crazy idea... Use a $3,000 MacBook Air laptop as DVR

Sorry, my bad... amcanproductions dot com/FxStuntDriver/ReqSpecs The problem with my application is that I need 4 cameras not 1
  2. Hey gang, I got fed up with looking for the "ideal" DVR. So much bull crap, so much hype... I am thinking of using my MacBook Air as DVR if I get the green light from you guys... The main reason I want to do this is that my Air uses a 64 SSD (Solid State Drive), 2GB Ram, 512 VRAM, and for my race car application recording on SSD as oppose to HD can prove beneficial. Ok, I rolled up the sleeves... what should I get to make this happen? I've heard about a USB 2.0 Video Capture Adapter that can be used with up to 4 cameras similar to this but there is insufficient information on this device Here is my application Requirement Specification web page AmCanProduction dot com/FxStuntDriver/ReqSpecs Can you please help a brother in need?!? Any good ideas?

Precision/Stunt Car On Board Video-Recording Help

This is the hard part... I need to record H.264, D1 resolution from four 1/3" Sony Ex-view 480 TVL (or Super HAD 520 TVL) cameras for 3-4 hours at 120 FPS (30 FPS each camera) Is there any formula to calculate the recording time based on the number of cameras, recording resolution, and frames per second?

Ok, that is an idea to find a DVR that uses Flash Card instead of HDD. Do you have any brand in mind, manufacturer or distributor? Thank you! FxStuntDriver
  5. Hello, I am in a big dilemma... Should I sacrifice a higher TVL resolution for the Ex-view technology? I can get for almost the same price a: 1) 1/3" Sony Ex-view HAD color CCD, 0.08Lux, 480TVL, 3.5-8mm auto iris 2) 1/3" Sony Super HAD color CCD, 0.8Lux, 550TVL, 3.5-8mm auto iris Would I get a better resolution from camera 1 as oppose to camera 2? Thank you!

Precision/Stunt Car On Board Video-Recording Help

Hey Thomas, For one, I never thought of that . Second I believe that a desktop PC wouldn't be suitable for a racing car. Firewire... ... ok, this souinds like a good idea...
  7. Hello, Can someone give us a hand of help in this matter. We would like to obtain video footage from a set of of 4 CCD cameras installed in the interior of a car and record all the action on a mobile DVR. After spending countless hours and visiting hundreds of pages we came to the conclusion that we din not came to any conclusion (we're not even close), hence the present post. Based on our application, what are the cameras and Mobile DVR technical specifications we are suppose to be "on the look out for", what to ask a manufacturer/supplier, how to avoid/spot the "Specification Hype". Any recommended hardware? For detailed requirement specifications please refer to this page: AmCanProductions(dot com)/FxStuntDriver/ReqSpecs Thank you anticipated for your time and effort.
