Thanks for correcting me. that was my first thought, then reread it and second guessed myself into a wrong assumption. I will check connetions and adjustments when it stops raining.

Ok, let me think out loud here for a moment... Correct me if I'm wrong, PLEASE!!! I am going to switch power supplies and see if it is a power problem. but i want to clearify control settings and functions. The led array is set at the factory and can not be changed. Correct? PG16 of manual. http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?product_id=197 The blue phillips screw is going to adjust the photocell brightness and will only adjust the time the the photocell tells the camera to switch from day to night. Correct? Pgs. 16, & 8 of manual Therefore it has no effect on the level of IR produced. Thanks, Gesualdo
-
well... I think there was a real faint glow and the mirror did brighten the picture almost perceptably so they are working but it does not appear to be very much.
-
will try it when it kicks over to b&w about 15 min or so
-
What should I see?
-
well tried to post video and can't find a place that can host the type of file
-
Thanks for response and the idea. I will do that and if neccessary I will take it down and bench test it again. there is, I believe, an adjustment screw for the level of ir. It's for that or the sensor, can't remember which. I will have to check the manual.

and no more $$ than the others. added a piece of plain old foam mic windscreen in it to cut the high wind whistle and WOW.

Help trying to convert umv files to moviemaker usable format
Gesualdo replied to Gesualdo's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yeah, It's a propriety player. I was hoping to use other player for it. oh well, Tried finding something myself without any luck so I figured I would ask. Now I know. Thanks anyway gesualdo -
I like the extreme products, personally. They are expensive, but very good products. I believe the ex 46 is the same camera as the ex40 but without the IR http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?product_id=7 I used these illuminators and they work great. http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?product_id=13 I switched one for the ex82 and with it's 2 cameras it is amazingly better picture, but not covert. http://www.extremecctv.com/product_detail.php?product_id=212 I recommend this extreme chart as a reference. http://www.extremecctv.com/pdf/brochure/ExtremeCCTV-product-guide-07-08.pdf Hope it helps, Gesualdo
-
Yeah, I have 2 installed, suplimented IR and they work fine. Gesualdo

the ex 40 is a good camera, however, you may need more than the provided ir at 20 ft for a identification quality picture.

I was looking at the specs for the G4-RTA-D1 DVR and wanted to get your opinions first. Any users or reviews. http://www.intellicamusa.com/PDF/G4-RTA-D1.pdf

Maybe ...I don't know? I want to know how much of the advertising is fact and how much is hype? I'm tired of being burned by not quite understanding all the twists of the jargon to get a good product. I've become very, very cynical about the advertisng and marketing of security products. What is not quite stated, but implied, is killing me. Straight answers are IMPOSSIBLE to get. Noone gives an answer that isn't coached or hedged in some way to be non-commital and non-specific. I feel like I'm dealing with politicians and used car salesmen. Is it a contractor thing too? Does the DVR actually record best quality images at D1(704X480) @ 30fps on ALL channels AT THE SAME TIME and play back those images at D1 also? Is it worth the asking prices? How does it rate compared to other high quality DVRs? What is really comparable to it? How many people actually use it? so far.... 2? Why or why not? Does anyone know? SORRY just frustrated

Been reading old threads after searching for intellicam. So it is an OEM DVR from where? Who makes it? Any answers to my previous questions? Gesualdo

It looks like a really good dvr by the specs, but how does it rate to GE/Kalatel, IC REALTIME, Bosch, Sanyo, etc. Why is'nt anyone talking it up or use it on big projects or "pro" jobs like the others? Does it truely do 30 fps of highest quality picture on all 8 or 16 cameras at once, or does the frame drop significantly like all the others?
