They sound like exactly what I am looking for please PM with info and pricing. What quality of picture settings are available and effects on recording speed and recording ratios Thanks, Gesualdo

Sorry for the confusion. I was looking for 30 but can only find a max of 7.5 which is why I asked for "better than 7.5". PLEASE-- Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks, Gesualdo

Daryll733 the Kodicam says max480 @CIF not d1 unless I should buy a 16 channel DVR and only use 4 channels??? The CDP507 states: Maximum Recording Rate Frame: 720 x 480 pixels with 120 IPS NTSC / 720 x 576 pixels with 100 IPS PAL Field: 720 x 240 pixels with 240 IPS NTSC / 720 x 288 pixels with 200 IPS PAL CIF: 352 x 240 pixels with 480 IPS NTSC / 352 x 288 pixels with 400 IPS PAL Adjustable Recording Speed Frame: 120, 60, 30, 15 IPS / 100, 50, 25, 12.5 IPS Field: 240, 120, 60, 30 IPS / 200, 100, 50, 25 IPS CIF: 480, 240, 120, 60 IPS / 400, 200, 100, 50 IPS Image Quality Setting Best, High, Normal and Basic for a 16 channel DVR it is the same and the connection to image quality for frame rate is not connected but my experience is the faster the rate the lower the quality to achieve it. so the quality will be basic the rate will be 7.5. Is there a DVR that records 4 or 8 channels at 30 fps, at D1, with best (high) quality,- on all channels -at the same time?- not one at a time. Or am I just dreaming?

Can you explain how that works and how to check it and set it. I was looking at the ICRealtime Pro 8 but can not find pricing and am told the flex also can be upgraded. I am learning more all the time. Gesualdo

OoooKay then! How about some thing completely unreasonable then.... Something that will give D1 at high res at better than 7.5 frame rate?
-
THanks Don't need a specific price but model(s) to consider would work. PM'ed you. Anyone and everyone else can join in with recommendation too. Gesualdo

Daryl733 you quote a dvr that can record D1 on all channels at the same time but it's not practical. can you give me some honest examples of an 8 channel DVR that can do this with very good picture quality at 30 frames per channel, disregarding memory storage requirements for now - will add it myself, and at a reasonable price? I'm looking to seriously upgrade. Currently have EX82, EX40, and Pano 484 cameras Gesualdo

Rory, I have used heat shrink and this stuff called liquid electric tape in rc model boats and subs where the connections are under water and constant direct contact with the water without problems, even at high speeds and rough water. Done it for years without a single short or break. of course this is fter soldering the connection. Gesualdo

I ordered from them again in november, it took 2 months to get my item. I was able to get through each time I called but was told the problem was getting the ex82 from extreme.
-
Ok, educate me... I bought the extreme ex82 camera with the black diamond ir and was so impressed I bought another. THe first one came with their power supply exps.008 24v 1A, the new one came with the exps.009 24v 2.5A. I'm told they are discontinuing the exps.008. so my question is, is there going to be a difference in performance and do I need to be concerned about either one. The pdf page lists the exps.009 as the correct power supply. Thanks, Gesualdo

The questions are: Will Bosch cover Extreme warranties? and Will the quality of products and service suffer? Both remain to be seen....

Thanks Rory, I was going to do that on Monday, I thought I would try to get some expert advice sooner. Will let you know what I find out. Gesualdo

The nvdv4 does 240pps at 360x240, 120pps at 720x240 res ntsc, and 60pps at 720x 480 res ntsc so that would be 120pps at medium res according to the specs. http:// http://www.amasecurity.com/v/vspfiles/v4_Backup/product%20specs/nvdv4.pdf

I believe you only need a tv tuner card in the computer or xternal card to get it to work. -
Is there a way to adjust the gain on the ex40mnx dome camera? I'm getting a snowy/ grainy picture at night.
-
The picture is good day and night for angle, less than 45 degrees, picks up faces at door and truck in driveway, just a bit grainy at night. In fact, faces are washing out at the door with added IR. Looks like a light white rain at night without another light on in addition to IR.
-
Will post some soon. The foam is pushing on the dome, frankly, it can make it a bit difficult to seat the dome. It clears up when I turn on the outside lights and even irises down, so I just need more light consistantly. Added a Ex26 illuminator before but it evidently still isn't enough. Just Spoiled now that I am comparing it to the ex82 I guess.

Guess not then... Thanks

Got the mic installed (finally), MY fault it took so long, though it works great , still testing limits and limitations. I had a little difficulty wiring, tight spacing and directions, and contacted the company, ETS, Inc. Wound up sending it back for them to check out. It IS difficult to wire up as the designer was the tech for it, and he admitted he had to resolder it 3 times himself to get connection connected. I expect a minor redesign in the future to simplify connection. They shipped it back already connected to their own wire for free and no charge for the wire. Kept me informed through the whole process and right there when called for assistance. Can't say enough about the good service. I recommend then highly. Will update again...

Is it legal to record a conversation of someone on my front steps? I understand that it is ok if one party is aware of the recording or if the conversation could be overheard naturally. Does it apply in this situation? I have a no soliciting sign on my front door(residential) and have had a number of groups repeatedly ignore it. I have contacted the home organizations after the first incident. I have video of the same individuals coming back. The last time they were verbally abusive to my wife and a bit threatening. I can see the people in the video but they are not visably physically threatening. I would like to record the conversation before and after I open the door. My chair is near the window and I can usually hear someone on the steps but.... Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Installing the SM1 microphone and not sure of the connections. The mic end has a round 4 pin connector labeled ABCD and only 2 wireshielded cable needed. Directions simply say: A: +5 to 16 power B: ground C: ground D: Audio I think A and D. Correct? Interface is three pin block + audio - Any help appreciated THanks
