This adjustment is the only adjustment on the LED Power Board. must be it. the only adjustment posible that I can see. blue screw. I should increase the level to positive side correct?

    Testing ir

OK the only adjustments related to the LED Array is the Photocell brightness adjustment. Will this increase the level the IR is putting out or does it effect the point at which it switches from color to B&W

    Testing ir

This is the camera. it is definitely rated for this wavelength. I think I need to find the IR adjustment. http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm http://www.extremecctv.com/products/uploads/PDF2/EX40MN-EX40MNX_TS_060101.pdf with this camera in it: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=34292&highlight=mx4&sid=cba566b6b76f1db8d5edf1b1e548ecfa#34292

Not sure what you mean by does it have a level for the IR on the cam setting? I don't believe so. I think there was a photocell sensor adjust and thats it. I don't have the directions in front of me, will know more tomorrow when I can get my hands on them and the camera. Will send you a pic tomorrow also.

    Needed: - Extreme dome covers

Help. I have 2 extreme ex40mnx cameras with different domes. one half tint one clear. I am looking for someone who can sell me another set to mate them up and/or inserts for the clear domes. please pm me if you can help or should I go direct to extreme. I bought them at Spytown and he does not have them listed on his sight. Thanks, Gesualdo
  7. If they did go out of business, you should contact both your local state Better Business Borough and the one in the state the business is in and file claims against them. You become a crediter that is on the list to be paid. Granted a low level one but you might get your money back eventually. It's paperwork but usually worth it. Good Luck

    Cold

I went to see my brother in Florida a couple years ago over the holidays and he was freezing wearing a parka, sweatshirts, and boots, while I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt. It was 65F. We were a sight walking around together. The funniest part was the year before that he was stationed in Alaska and complaining that was dying from the heat when they tranfered him to Florida.

    IR Camera Leds

From what I have read the Speco does not use the 940nm ir leds they use the 850nm so an orange glow will be present. I am currently using the extreme ex40 mnx cameras with the 940nm leds and they work very well. Rory explained that there is an approximately 20% decrease in pic quality and distance using the higher nm led's but they are still clear. I have learned, (the hard way), the wiring is very important with these cameras, power hunger when using the led's. I'll post pic when I can. I would definitely recommend them. I started a similar thread looking at the topic in "backyard camera" but will probably stick with the extreme line because of the results I have had.

    backyard camera

Hey, I'm looking to add to the system (again). I need advice on a good day/night backyard cam with IR. It will cover the back door, deck and gate entrance 30ft away and possibly shed and part of the pool depending on the angle. Wide view. I was looking at the speco 7706dnv or the mace cam53 or the ex9100 with 3.6 or 4-9 mm lens from viewing the posted pics. I'm using extreme ex40 domes out front, so could add another out back but thought I might go a little cheaper and don't need the armor, Yet. I looked at the extreme ex14 but it is overkill on the price and specs, I think. Your thoughts please, and I am definitely open to suggestions. Gesualdo

    Testing of Dome Cameras

The list looks good so far. You might include ease of access for settings and assembly, any options or modifications available, materials and construction, accuracy of manual and usability of product and manual. Still thinking what I would want to see. I appreciate what you are trying to do. Gesualdo

    Speco HT-7815DNV

Hi, Can anyone tell me about the Speco HT-7815DNV camera? http://www.specotech.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=789 What are the pro's and con's and any experiences with it? Thanks Gesualdo

    Speco HT-7815DNV

So the 9100ex should operate at the same temps as the speco ht7815 even though they don't rate it for this temp. Will they cover it if it doesn't?

    parabolic microphone

You definitely need to use a directional mic with a very high gain to get any kind of distance also the mic would need to be directly at the focal point of the dish used to maximize the input to the mic and the parabala of the dich needs to be correctly shaped to focus all the sound at the specific point where the microphone is. a salad bowl in generally not designed for this and calculating it is not easy. some of the sites listed may provide more information. Have not looked at them myself yet. Interestingly the discovery channel just did a program that addressed a light gathering and focusing parabolic lens. With several microphones already in hand can you create an arc of parabolic mics to pick up a larger area since they need to focused at a specific point. 2 miles of dense woods is a lot to cover. wouldn't any shots at that time warrant an investigation or are the mics not picking up anything? I don't think radio shack will have what you need.

    Speco HT-7815DNV

good to know. See I learned something new today just by waiting and reading some more I knew it would work if I tried hard. All kidding aside, Thanks alot. Gesualdo

    parabolic microphone

OK, Got a different idea for you. If you can get to where you think the sound is coming from without the bums finding out about it, how about setting a hidden(descrete) microphone there wired to the parabolic lens above to transmit to a location and pick up the signal from there. maybe trim some branches to aid in distance along the focus. may also help to put the bums in a recordable set position as they shoot the parabolic transmitter. And you can rest asured that the sound will be transmitted before the thing is destroyed. Probably loose the mic and let them know who recorded them but it may be worth it to you. Just a thought.

    Speco HT-7815DNV

Ditto. the news reported that on this date in 1994 NYC had a low of -19 degrees F. We usually are colder than they are where I'm at, so a heater or low temp. camera seems to be a necessity. The 9100ex is rated to +14F and I can't find the eclipse specs. Would like to know. Speco was rated to -20F Still gonna wait and read some more.
