Video IQ cameras
stealthvue replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I love the technology. I have been testing one of their iCVR encoders hooked up to a $25 China special camera and it has been awesome. I use the cameras to send signals to my video alarm verification platform, VideoAPB. They really learn scenes quickly - but the more human traffic that exists during this scene learning process, the better. Have fun with it! -
Anyone interested in a custom/branded geovision software?
stealthvue replied to 402vette's topic in Geovision
I would be happy to discuss a custom GEO project with you. Feel free to give me a call at 702-227-7145 tomorrow. Here is a quick sample of a quick 4-camera template designed for a touchscreen while keeping the user out of certain features (notice the lack of a power button) Thanks, Matt -
I have had great success using parallels desktop and installing windows XP on the mac. Gives you all access to the live streaming as well as the remote playback functions. As far as getting GEO on your iphone, Depending on what version of Geo you are running, I patched the webcamserver.exe file to allow access from iphones. http://www.stealthvue.com/geovision_iphone.html the only downer is, it breaks the java viewer. So you would have to see what works best for your client.

Geo kills all of the files in the webtemp directory each time the web cam server is stopped. The master files are stored within the 'TEMPLATE' directory. Any changes made to those HTML files will take effect each and every time the web cam server is started. MAKE SURE TO BACKUP THE ORIGINAL FILES - PSA - had to make that disclaimer

Are you affiliated with NetZEye? [/code] -
I use GEO cams on my blackberry all the time as a marketing tool as well. Worked seamlessly on my Tmobile Blackberry Curve right out of the box. Allows me to access the phone mode of GEO - still pictures - but still live. Make sure you aren't emulating Pocket IE or netscape in your blackberry web browser settings. Gview and SSView won't work on the blackberry. Just point your blackberry's browser directly to the external IP address of your geovision server. Matt Stealthvue.com

anyupdate on iphone viewer for geovision? i may have got 1
stealthvue replied to chronometre's topic in Geovision
Rich - The app simply lets you access the "Phone" mode of the geovision system. In those cases where you can't or don't want to install the Gview app on a windows mobile system. This also allows you to access Phone mode from Iphones and treo's that are running PalmOS. BTW: just added the patched webcamserver for version 8.0.1. It is available here: http://www.stealthvue.com/geovision_iphone.html Let me know how this works out for you. Matt Stealthvue.com -

Here is the link to get Geovision "Phone Mode" on Iphone and Treo: http://www.stealthvue.com/geovision_iphone.html Instructions are on the site as well as the patched webserver. -
Ok - Here is the link: http://www.stealthvue.com/geovision_iphone.html. Tested on IPhone and Treo. Allows IPhone to access the "Phone Mode" of the GEO sw instead of trying to load the Java Viewer.

Holy Crap! It works great! Scraped off the resistor for cam 16 (and accidentally cam 15) and can split off those channels perfectly now (no darkness)! Looped one cam to inputs 14 and 15 (15 minus the 75 ohm resistor) picture is perfect. Looped same cam to inputs 13 and 14 (both with 75 ohm resistors - normal) image gets really dark. Only problem is, you now need to use an external T with a 75 ohm terminator if you ever want to use that channel normally again (i.e. not split) Going to make a youtube video on how it works with results over the weekend. I love being able to make these cards do whatever the heck we want them to. Note: I am sure this voids the hell out of the warranty

Yeah - I replied in that thread also. Option 1) would be an inline video amplifier to take care of the darkness, or 2) (Which I may be testing this weekend) scrape off the 75 ohm resistor on the Geo Board for that channel which will increase its brighness as well. The dark GEO thing really ticks me off too. Has anybody used the loop out card? After I test my resistor removal on a GV800, I will post the results in a separate thread. Would be nice to replace the resistors with DIP switches. Are you listening Geovision?

Sorry I forgot to mention - I use VNC to connect to these systems. On systems with internet functionality, I install logmein to be able to control those PC's.

I have several small systems that are not on a network like this. What I do is assign them a static IP address, then leave a length of CAT5 wired for crossover. I can then take my laptop and do whatever maintenance needs to be done. One other idea - shich I haven't tried yet - would be to put a wireless network adapter on the system and set up a secure peer-to-peer network so you can connect and control the geo PC while in the vicinity of the unit - no need to physically access the system.

Snapshot from camera when have signal from GV NET/IO input
stealthvue replied to kashov's topic in Geovision
You might be able to write a program that grabs the still JPG images that GEO creates when you launch the GEO webserver with the JPEG option checked. If you had a program and an external input - perhaps separate from the GVIO, you could have this trigger and save the current jpeg image that GEO has saved on the hard drive. -
Can you just use a BNC T and split that camera so it goes to GEO and your monitor at the front of the store?
-
Geo cards are notorious for this. Most devices have an automatic 75 ohm termination resistor that activates/deactivates as devices are looped through it. Geo has the resistors, but no way to switch them. If you look at a GV800-16 card, you will see a bank of 16 75ohm resistors. **** Now - I haven't done this myself personally yet, but I am going to test removing one of those resistors to see if my picture brightens up. Will let you know how it works out...

Just posted a message on a patch for the Geo web server that will allow you to access the "Phone" mode on IPhones and Treos. Will post the link once I reach 5 forum posts -
Hi All - Had the same problem - several customers not able to even view still images on their Iphones or Treo's. The problem lies in the Web Cam server which is looking at the browser tags sent by these phones. I patched the webserver to allow all phones to at least access the phone mode. Simple - install takes all of 10 seconds. Can't post links yet (don't have 5 posts) but if you PM me, I can send the link.
