    IP Video storage

I have used buffalo dives before and they work good (2TB total storage). I never thought processor power was an issue either. I'm not sure of the other NAS but Buffalo worked great.

    Hybrid System suggestions

Milestone software is also an option if you can afford it I used NUUO back in the day but haven't touched it in a couple years. I have been meaning too though considering all the positive talk about their software.
  3. You could try removing the ActiveX file and reinstalling. As mentioned before, also try uninstalling the viewer software. It would be best to remove the software first then the ActiveX file; Get the latest version from the website and then install.
  4. Yup, two video cards with dual-outputs will give you the ability for four monitors. (I use the same setup on my PC with three monitors). I'm a GeForce person myself and picked up some cheap cards from Tigerdirect.com. I believe Milestone software will also work for multiple monitors. You can have the video feeds going through their smart software or a browser. You then just have multiple browsers running.
  5. Axis are my favorite! They make one good network camera The link didn't work for me but their site must be done. I will try checking again later
  6. I agree. I haven't used Avigilon but try playing around with the video settings. Do you find the FPS drops during the snowy periods as well?
  7. Axis makes a good video server and I am using several in many locations. I find out of all the video servers I have used, they are the most reliable. There is a good listing of video servers here: http://www.networkwebcams.com/index.php?cPath=44
  8. NetworkWebCams offers a learning center for IP cameras. The site discusses a lot of the basic and advanced topics regarding IP cameras. You can check it out here: http://www.networkwebcams.com/ip-camera-learning-center/
  9. I think Milestone software might be a good idea to look into for this type of application. They offer a remote service that allows you to connect remote cameras and allow users over the Internet to access the software with a username and password. This will also allow you to setup privileges.
  10. Doesn't Sony and Panasonic carry an IP camera or two that have built-in memory and progressive scan? I know they have the SD cards but I can't remember if they have progressive scan.
  11. ACTi's software is very unstable and full of bugs. Milestone is very reliable software and as mentioned before, so are luxriot, OnSSI and Genetec.
  12. You can try contacting 4XEM. I know they carry lenses similar to the Tamron lens and they have a camera that is similar to the Vivotek camera. You might be able to find a lens that fits there.

    vivotek 6112

I believe most Vivotek products support DynDNS and it works very well.
  14. Depending on the camera, some manufacturers provide a web script that allows you to display live video from the camera on a web page.

    Genetec

It is expensive software but works well. Can't say I have any running applications with it though.
