    lens protection during housing painting

I ended up using a little ball of duct seal. Worked perfectly. Oh, and they open easily by unscrewing the housing from the trim ring. Thanks for the replies.

    lens protection during housing painting

Thanks guys. Afraid I'll break it trying to open and dont feel like blowing $280. Want to paint them in place as they are ball mount and want FOV in place before spraying. Also, it's a plaster/steel mesh/black iron ceiling so I need to mount before I can set FOV as I don't want to cut the black iron. These are going over registers and need to be perfect. Anyone see a problem with a dab of hot melt glue? Would it ruin the lens?
  3. Need to paint 2 of these: What would be a good way of protecting the lens during the spray painting? Lens is so tiny, surely someone knows a good trick? Thanks in advance for any help you might afford me.
