Can Geo vision control a speed dome ultra VII
Blake CCTV posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi I have just taken over a system that had a Intellex (tyco) DVR installed this has now been removed and I have installed a Geovision system but I can't find a proctocol to control the dome camera which is an americandynamics ultra VII speed dome. It does have a sensormatic keyboard to control it and this works but the system is monitored remotley so I need to get the dome controlled by the DVR. The Sensormatic keyboard outputs RS485 to a convertor box that then outputs RS422 to the dome. Any ideas. Thanks in advance -
Can anybody tell me what the bandwidth usage is for either a 1.3 mega pixel or 5 mega pixel camera between the camera and a Geovision NVR. I need to tell a customer how much impact this will have on their network

Thanks one last thing was that at 25fps or lower

This is a bit tricky as i am not sitting in front of the machines in question but this might help, I assume that the DVR is a single channel recorder and is basically a replacement for a VCR this being the case you need to set both units to work with each other. They need to syncronise to each other so that when a picture is sent from the multiplexer to the DVR the DVR is ready to receive it, if it isn't ready then it waits for the next picture this will cause a delay. In the old days of VCRs and Multiplexers the multiplexers had a list of supported VCRs for you to choose which one was being used when the multiplexer had this info it would adjust the speed at which it would output its pictures to the VCR for the correct timing. Have a look in the Vista multiplexer menu for such settings. I hope this helps. You could just treat yourself to a nice shiny new DVR which is bascally your two units combined.

I don't know the model number of the Baxall DVR but try 347 that works on one of them for sure

TEN Do's & Don'ts for Intellex Systems
Blake CCTV replied to CCTV_Suppliers's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi you seem to know what you are talking about so hopefully you can help me out. I have recently taken over a ADT system that use's an Intellex American Dynamics DVR. The customer has their user level password but not an admin level password I have tried the usual easy ones eg 0000 1234 4321 etc but to no avail we only need it to change the time. I also tried to reboot the machine and change the time in the Bios but this is also password protected. Any ideas -
Can anyone help with audio on an axis camera model no AXIS 216MFD recorded on a Geovision NVR when I have tried to record audio all i get is white noise, I know that the audio is ok from the camera because if you use a web browser to view the camera the audio is ok. Any ideas anyone ?

Hi if by the console cable you mean the lan cable then the answer is no although you can still do a playback and file download using this. If you mean via the serial connection then as far as i know the answer is still no.

Changing the hard drive doesn't always get rid of the password on a DS2 because with some models they also store it on a chip on the mother board

I may be able to help with passwords on DS2 DM's pm me to find out how

Axis 216MFD on Geo NVR
Blake CCTV replied to Blake CCTV's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The Axis mfd does work on the Geo NVR software V8.2 V8.3 not out yet -
Hi has anyone tried an Axis 216MFD camera on the Geo NVR software I know it supports the 216FD and the 216FDV. I have just bought 15 of them whoops!

Hi we had the same problem with the serial cable not working. It it really simple you need to use a serial crossover cable. Instead of buying one you can just swop the cables on pins 2 and 3 of the serial connector. just in case you don't have this info these are the settings you need: Bits per second=19200 Data bits=8 parity=none stop bits=1 flow control=none hope this helps

I see a lot of posts about how to change the hard drives on Dedicated Micros DVR's most people seem to have problems loading the software because they don't know the IP address of the machine there is a simple way to find this and to change it to what you want. You need to use Hyper terminal and link your pc to the serial port of the DVR If any one wants specific instructions then send me a message.
