    Your opinion

Thanks for the reply. As of right now I would like to start with one camera. This way I can get all the kinks worked out and get a feel for it. I would be going for quality and anything under 400 USD per camera would be great.

    Your opinion

I have been reading through the forum and decided to ask your opinions on what camera I should purchase. Hopefully this will make sense. This may seem odd but as a personal experiment I am going to monitor the downstairs of my house(kitchen, dining room, living room, and computer room) and have the video viewable by anyone via the internet. I know a lot about the computer/server side of things but I am clueless when it comes to cameras (are security cameras as easy to interface to a computer as a web cam?). I'm not positive If i need something along the lines of security cameras or high quality web cams. Please get me pointed in the right direction. What I need the camera/s to do: Price the lower the better but not too much of a concern. Decent quality. Resolution of at least 640x480. Night and Day(will be used indoors). Focus from approx 5 to 30 feet away. Thanks for your time.
