So if there is already a wireless router off the cable modem, you can hook up another wireless router in another room that will wirelessly talk to one another?

Sometimes this is something you just have to do, even if your short on jobs for the moment. Budget jobs like this can come back and nip you in the butt, especially if you try to warranty any of the equipment!

nope, that will not work. If there is no Composite video input, you'll need a digital channel modulator, this basically lets you run a composite video input and throws it onto a CATV channel of your choice. They come in a simple Ch3/Ch4 Version, Multi Channel, etc... Depends how much you wanna spend.

Needing to post warning signs re: CCTV Systems being present
securitymonster replied to CraigVM62's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I believe it varies from state to state. In Oregon you don't have to post signs unless you are recording audio. You might just call the local police to see what they have to say! -
Your gonna be pressed to find something with a $150 budget! Is the $150 your spending limit or your customers? Also, sometimes IR doesn't do the trick. You can always suggest that the customer install some sort of lighting on the exterior of the building, this will help light up the area so that theives can't do what they do as easily but also help the cameras out! How far off the ground will the cameras be mounted?

congrats fas!!! One thing to check on the stripper is the blade adjustment. Some tools allow you adjust the blade to cut more or less! But.....we all could use new "strippers"

Wow, I just had the new Spicy "Premium" Chicken sandwich from McDonalds and its pretty good! I'm impressed. It has almost a grilled chicken flavor with just enough spicy kick to it, almost like a spicy sausage dog kick! If you like spicy chicken and haven't had it yet, you've gotta try it! This video is not working for me....anybody else? -
After you download it, you'll have to rename the file just to add the ".mp4" suffix so the netplayer will recognize it.

The downside I have come accross mounting cameras inside of vehicles is the glare. Its no different than mounting a camera on your house, but instead mounting it in the living room shooting out the window. Now if the guy opens the car and you get a clean shot, then great, but you'll have to have good light, or infrared, then with infrared, you will expose the "hidden" camera. Hey Nellson, do you have security yard signs mounted anywhere in your neighborhood? -

Just keep in mind that a PTZ most likely won't get you any more recognition that your cam used from the posted video........unless it happens to be dialed in on the cars in the evening! -

Maybe you can mount a day/night vari-focal dome just above the garage and really frame your cars, this will give you a better attempt at a face shot! Maybe even one camera per car if the budget allows. The motion lights are good too! Anything that will detour the theif is better than catching them after they steal something! -
STATIC IP ADDRESS-HOW DO I GET ONE
securitymonster replied to jeannie's topic in Computers/Networking
Check out the following link for some help with DDNS using www.no-ip.com http://www.no-ip.com/support/guides/ Let us know if this works for you, alot of us use this instead of a static IP. Hit us up with any more questions you may have. Its a pretty simple setup! -
Actually, that makes it 4 thumbs up!
