ICrealtime DVR Online. This is the dvr of all dvr's
securitymonster replied to jisaac's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Yup, this DVR rocks! I just spent an hour on the phone with Jisaac talking about it. It was like getting another full feature demo from the manufacturer. He was talking about even more new features that I wasn't aware of! Thanks Jisaac! -
This is the number one problem in this forum. Just about every thread gets hijacked and the original question never gets dealt with, or it finally does after the arguing stops. Maybe there needs to be more moderators to handle this. You can tell a good forum by how "on topic" it stays. If somebody has a problem with a suggestion, instead of calling them out publicly, send them a PM. Maybe instead of jumping down somebodies throat, you will post ideas and suggestions yourself that directly relate to the original thread post/question! I'm so happy that I understand CCTV and can answer my own questions, but I would certainly be very bothered if I had some simple questions about buying a dvr, that maybe I didn't know how to ask, and then hear about why somebody doesn't manufacture a particular product! Come on..................... I'm done venting now

The software has been tested OK on XP & 2000. May be you need to be logged in with admin rights to install? Let me know if you have trouble installing. Jelly Belly http://www.software4cctv.co.uk You have to extract the executable from the zipped folder before you run it! -

Chief of police and Mayor Busted for making meth
securitymonster replied to jisaac's topic in Test Bench
yup! Meth is nasty. Check out Multnomah County, just a few hours north of here... http://www.damnfunnypictures.com/html/Faces-Of-Meth.html -
Those cameras look like they will work just fine. Alot better quality than your first picks! As for a lens, I would go with the 2.9-8mm and your probably going to use all the wide angle you can get! Let us know how it all goes.

I won't even comment on the McDonals, Subway, or Taco Bell that I used to work at as a kid...

most of the standalones I have come accross only transfer video thru the client software, so if your on your laptop at home using the client software, you would be able to transfer video from the DVR to your laptop. There may be standalones out there that transfer differently but somebody else will have to help you out there.

Here are 2 brands of reputable PC based solutions: Geovision - www.geovision.com.tw Video-Insight - www.video-insight.com (www.demovi.com for demo)

generally to get a better frame rate, you will lose some resolution with a stand alone DVR, this is where the PC based solution comes in handy as you have more room to play with that. Compression is another factor to consider. Are you asking about ID as in identifying? Its very hard to identify when your not in a traffic controlled environment (front door, traffic gate, counter, etc) and it gets even harder at night. Not that it cant be done but you really need to get strategic when placing cameras! For example, if you wanted to watch cars come and go from a parking lot, you could put up a $100 camera, but if you wanted to effectively capture license plates from that same parking lot, you would need something that has been tried and tested which runs about $3500 and carefully placed on top of that. There are no shortcuts with security!

Hello guys, welcome to the board! First off, yes, there are plenty of 120fps full frame recording stand alone DVR's that will exceed your expectations. Its just a matter of finding one that will fit your budget. Everything you want is pretty standard for the 120fps recording units. I will say that 30fps per channel is a little overkill. Most people would be fine with 15fps per channel. Doing this will save you some money and you can still get all the bells and whistles you want. When installing a hard drive into a unit that does not come with one, it is as simple as screwing it down, plugging it in, and turning on the machine. Once you load up the machine, you will go into the menu and format the drive. Some have different steps but that is basically what you need to do. And yes, it is much cheaper to purchase hard drives outside of the security vendor, however sometimes you get a longer warranty when you purchase their DVR with their hard drive.

It seems that the trend nowadays is the VFD (Vacuum Flourescent Display), I like it too! So do you think all these units are different, or just different boxes?
