I'm not suggesting that every question gets put in a new thread, but you and I know there are handfuls of threads with posts that don't belong in them! A forum like this, getting 3-5 new members daily can't operate on 2 moderators. You need to get some people to help you out. Give them specific areas to work on and go from there.

Have you researched the program schedule? I mean, isn't it like $600 or so for a one day pass? Is it really worth that? Have you talked to anybody involved that can give you some insight as to what you might learn?

I'm not talking about a "specific" thread, but rather a problem this forum has! I think there needs to be a moderating team for certain sections that tackles this ongoing problem!

Maintenance is a big thing. The downside to a PC Based systems is having to support the PC itself. Unless you get a pre-configured PC Based solution, if something goes wrong with the PC, it can be a pain to diagnose, repair, or replace!

I use alot of standalones on smaller jobs where somebody just wants a simple continous or motion activated recording schedule. Price is the biggest decision maker for me on PC vs Standalone. I can track down a good standalone solution depending on functions and features for about 1/3 the price of a PC system.

man, i'm so tired, but I can't sleep. I could never do this on a regular basis like Rory. How does he do it?

Power supplies needed will be 12V DC for the 567 series and 24V AC for the 455 series. The 455 series claims to be dual voltage but its specs only state 24V AC.

this camera is particular isn't that great, I was just using it for reference and showing that even Cop-USA has them available, also meaning that you can find them in a variety of locations. The 216X zoom is must marketing, just like a PTZ does. It has 18X Optical and 12X Digital zoom. Here is the PDF

There are lots of options. Almost everybody has an optical zoom camera, even COP-USA has them... They use RS232/R485 interface controls.

I do too, but its not as "catchy" as the new one, and there is more and more people checking out the forums daily. If you give them anything, it needs to be visual appeal, and this forum lacks it bad... I guess seeing the whole picture including forum, logo, colors, etc will make the difference and will offer a lot more insight.
