Need IR help for outdoor camera.
securitymonster replied to kg6mti's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello kg6mti, You can purchase an external IR source to add to any camera. They can be found at most cctv websites. Do a search for "IR Illuminator" and you should find some. -
If you don't figure it out this weekend, PM me on monday and I'll get you some answers!

What "updated" shapes are you looking for? You can import any .jpg file, so you cand find a manufacturer picture of a camera and just import it! Here are some sites: http://www.mvps.org/visio/3rdparty.htm http://www.diagramantics.com/diagenvs/visio/visrsrcs.htm

Burglar alarms helping surveillance industry
securitymonster replied to jisaac's topic in Test Bench
statistics are showing around here that the majority of the residential burglaries are comitted by somebody that you know, somebody that knows you, or somebody in the neighborhood. With that being said, you will have a good chance at reviewing video and recognizing someone! -
Burglar alarms helping surveillance industry
securitymonster replied to jisaac's topic in Test Bench
The Visonic Powermax+ alarm we sell now has web cams that integrate to the alarm. You can place a camera and tie it to a zone, lets say the front door. Its designed to capture 10 burst images, 10 post images of an event and email them to you! Its also treated just like a webcam, so you can log on anytime and view whats going on! Its no surveillance system but its kinda neat how it works! But majority of the time, my customers that get alarms also end up buying surveillance. Just knowing who was in your house, where they were, and what they took is often enough reason for my customers to purchase surveillance. -
I use the VM300 viewfinder from CBC/Ganz and its great! Comes in handy when I just want a quick visual. And yes, you just put it up to your eyeball! Its handy to pass off to customers while your bidding a job and they are right there with you!

it looks like they will be @ ISC West this year, booth #4126 You can ask them personally! I myself have never heard of them.
-
They aren't bad. Any model your looking at in particular?

There is no secret as to where you get your stuff from. Its either the Manufacturer, Distributor, or Overseas! We sell customer service, not equipment!
-
I purchase some of my equipment from Northern and they are great! They help spec out jobs and always seem to have what I'm looking for when I can't find something. But to answer your question, NO, I don't work from JMAN or Northern Video. Maybe I should start referring everybody to my company like you do yours.

Not a bad little camera guys! Its about 5" long, it looks smaller in the pic. The diameter is pretty small though!

I'll see you at the door. I'll be wearing pants and a shirt. If I pass you without recognition, just give me a friendly tug on the sleeve as I've never met you before. -

Yes, I totally catch your drift. But I hear too many people laughing about affordable security nowadays. And again, i'm talking "average consumer", not business owner, paranoid home owner, etc... -

not to be sore on the subject but an effective camera is one that allows them to see what is happening, whether its $20 or $500 I know a $100 day/night ir bullet camera is much different that a Extreme camera but technology is going nuts right now. For the average consumer, it is no longer necessary to spend more than $100 per camera!
