  1. I'm from a fiber optic transceiver manufacturer and responsible for outside China market, but as i know a lot of surveillance project abroad, they do not use fiber transmission, mostly they can choose COAX, CAT5/6, or wireless solution. But here in China, nearly all the important video surveillance projects use fiber transmission, so i want to know is this the realy difference between China and other countries? How about the ITS system, freeway surveillane, and bank security surveillance system outside China? and also, will wireless or IP become the future's solution for video transmission? thanks.
  2. it seems that OTDR is so expensive, but it's really a very nice equipment for the fiber optic issue.

  8. hi, friend, i just asked our technical supervisor, he told me if your system is parallel connection to the DVR, maybe the damage of the DVR's data module can cause this problem maybe it's not because of the fiber transceivers
  9. maybe it's just because the camera's ptz was broken?
  10. you can try to change an other pair of transceivers, to see if it can works with data, i think it's the problem of transmitter or receiver

  13. There is one cable to each location. As i know, one fiber can run more than 64channal video/data/audio, so i think it's enough

Newbie's Hello from China -- fiber, tomorrow's copper

coz this is CCTVforum, so for the CCTV video surveillance, fiber is real time, uncompressed transmission, at least in China, some of the high requirement surveillance environment, fiber transmission is the only choice

Newbie's Hello from China -- fiber, tomorrow's copper

well.... i think in the future, maybe wireless transmission will be the main method, everyone know this is the truth, but now for CCTV surveillance, network transmission maybe more popular, and if you need real time surveillance and high quality video picture, maybe fiber optic transmission is the better way.
