try playing with the menus im sure there are menus like "time search" , "quick search" or record list.... those are the usual menus for playback of DVR i have experience with
hi, the problem with your AVTECH is the battery for the memory. it is located under the mother board. i forgot the specifications of the battery but i think it is 3 volts.
about the motion detecting cameras i think its avtech's program..
even if ONLY camera 8 senses the motion, its not only camera 8 that records but also cameras 1-7 records together with camera 8 therefore taking up space on the HDD .

to view it i think you need to install a software, like for the nokia phones, the software name is MANAGER. i view 761 and 785 fine with no problems. try viewing it using yahoo mobile typing the address and port on the feild

oh..i see... usually MPEG4 DVR's are cheaper than H.264. check on the specs. the DVR might contain goodies like USB large capacity back-up, VGA built in output, expandable storage etc etc etc.
