1. Can anyone please tell me exactly what ports need to be opened for my 9000 series Eyemax DVR to broadcast correctly? I originally set up my no name, Verizon branded modem/router to use the ports listed in the DVR UI, but it refused to configure properly and thus was forced to set the DVR on a DMZ, wide open without AV. Ran great for a year, now it keeps getting hit with viruses every other day.
2. What (if any) AV could (or even should?) be used on a PC based DVR?
3. What is the safest way to setup a networked DVR?
a. On DMZ with windows firewall and/or AV configured?
b. Behind the router w/FWDing and windows firewall disabled?
c. Behind the router w/FWDing and windows firewall enabled?
d. Other?
