Disosa, here is the files you need, you will need to connect to NVR using telnet and have files on USB plugged into NVR http://www.sarpanch.co.uk/nvrtelnet.zip

the only difference is the xvision logo, easier menu, and QR code for mobile apps, options are all the same

well it has worked fine for 3 months, and i plugged another old drive in and it worked, it must be the cheap usb caddy im using not transfering the power to the drive

How do I do the dmsg command? I know how to login via telnet. I tried the hard drives in my pc and they both work fine, it seems as thought the nvr is not supplying enough power to them after a while. Im going to try a proper external portable drive instead of the cheap ebay usb caddy I have used.

Has anyone had problems with hard drives failing? I have had 2 old SATA laptop drives fail they were connected using a SATA to USB caddy and both drives have lasted about 1 month each then just failed and started making clicking sounds.

It seems that mine worked because I used the Xvision search tool to upload the firmware, everyone else that failed did it direct via usb? Does anyone know of any software that can view the NVR on mac osx?

Goolink is the only one i can get to work, I dont like the idea of these p2p apps connecting through chinese servers, i want to use something like vmeye for a direct connection

im using a old laptop sata drive in a usb enclosure i got from ebay for a few $/£

do you see 8 squares where the cameras should be? press the round button in the bottom right corner of each square to turn the camera view on

does it ask you to install a plugin? if not then you need to lower your security settings

did you try the files via telnet? my nvr is working fine, the only problem i have is the ports are a bit loose so if i move the usb HDD cable the NVR turns off.

I used the searchtool from the xvision/hdcctv/y3k site, it included the option to upgrade.

use a programme called advances ip scanner, it will scan your network and list all ip addresses for devices, or if you have an iphone use a programme called inet, there are android ip scanners aswell

Has anyone got their nvr working with a mobile app iphone/android ? im using an app called goolink which is a little buggy, anyone using another?

the files in your previous post are from the recovery files used via telnet

I used the firmware from Xvision model number XRN0808E http://hdcctv.myshopify.com/pages/downloads http://www.y3k.com/downloads/firmware/XRN0808E_Firmware_03-06-14.zip the 3 files I uploaded using the search tool from my pc were: 1: NO1.R2701-8M_002_V4.0_0415.update 2: NO2.R2701-8M_002_0415.update 3: NO3.WM290.update

i'll check what files i used when i get to my pc, I take it you have read the messages above and seen people have failed firmware updates and bricked their nvr?

the menu at the top should dissapear when the mouse is not covering it, now that i have xvision firmware there is no menu at the top only a right-click menu

go into settings and try changing your stream type, there should be 4 options there in the drop down menu also try changing from 9 screen view to 4 screen view

is that on vga or hdmi display? try changing the resolution
