  4. Over the passed year, I have been using several 8MP Hikvision ColorVu bullet cameras to do biodiversity field research in the mountain forests of Western North Carolina. These cameras (DS-2CD2087G2-LU) are able to record beautiful color footage in very low light situations better than any other camera I know of, and this is exactly what I've needed to be able to do. So far, my setup has been: camera connected to TP-Link router, POE adapter connected to AC power bank and to the camera, ThinkPad laptop (Windows 10) connected to router, Verizon Jetpack wireless broadband modem for internet connection, and two portable AC power banks. And I've been using the Hikvision SADP tool to launch the camera, then, in the Live View browser tab, I've edited the cameras' configuration settings and controlled their recording. This has worked very well for me. Now, I need go deeper into the woods and record in more remote areas of the forest, where there in no cell service and no internet access. So, I need to set up everything to be able to record to the cameras' memory card, and/or to my laptop's hard drive. This seems like it would be something that is fairly easy to do; but I haven't found any clear and accurate instructions on how to do this, either on Hikvision's website or on the wider web. I'm hoping someone here might know either specifically, or even generally speaking, how to do what I'm needing to do.
  5. When installing a security camera system, one common question is, "How far can my surveillance camera see?" The recording distance of a security camera depends on factors such as lens size, resolution, and sensor type. Typically, a security camera can see and record between 10 to 70ft, but some cameras can see over 1,000 feet. The focal length, or the distance between the center of the lens and its focus, is crucial in determining the camera's viewing distance. A trade-off exists between the field of view (FOV) and viewing distance: a wider FOV captures more area but with less detail, while a narrower FOV offers more detail but covers less area. Cameras with fixed lenses have a set focal length, while modern IP cameras feature varifocal lenses that can be adjusted for different FOVs and distances. PTZ cameras have motorized varifocal lenses, allowing remote control of the lens size and focal length during recording. These cameras can capture details up to 300 feet away, but they are expensive and bulky. Resolution is another essential factor, as higher resolution cameras produce clearer images. High-definition cameras are now more affordable, and 8MP or 4K cameras with varifocal lenses are a good option for capturing clear images at various distances. By installing cameras close to monitoring spots, you can recognize faces and license plates even at greater distances. More informative article here
  6. Hello. When I log in to my account of ICsee app, there must be 2 cameras connected, but I don't see them. I live now in Georgia, but Cameras are in Russia. I shared my account with a friend from Belgium, and he didn't face the problem which I have. What's the problem with ICsee app?
  7. Good afternoon, I have a very strange issue, I have asked the company I purchased the equipment from , however although they helped a little they wouldnt take a camera back to test it for me. So, in our shop I have a Hikvision IP system with 3 cameras, 2 internal domes and an exterior one. One evening I checked on the cameras using IVMS and noticed our shop was in blackness, weird. The IR didnt seem to be working at all on any camera. It was as if the IR had been turned of altogethor. Next morning I accessed the recorder then the cameras, everything was as it should be; I had changed nothing in the lead up to this. I have reset every camera manually using the reset button and updated both the firmware on the cameras and recorder. Nope, still no joy. Any ideas ? The cameras work flawlessly otherwise. The cameras do switch to b/w in low light. System : DS-7604NI-K1/4P 2 x DS-2CD2142FWD-I(2.8mm) DS-2CD2142FWD-I(4mm)

  11. Does anyone know if Hikvision have an external IP camera with 2 way Audio inbuilt on the market. I don't want any i/o or need to add power & speakers etc. Just something neat & tidy in one unit. They used to have some sort of Cube Cam if i'm not mistaken but think that's now discontinued. Thanks IA for any help.

  13. Hi, I work at a restaurant where we use a Hikvision DS-7332HGHI-SH Turbo HD 1.0 with about 28 analog cameras. We have a couple cheap Jidetech P1 1080p PTZ IP cameras which we just started adding as we are interested in the whole video/power/PTZ over one cable convenience, and want to expand beyond the initial 32 analog channels (supports 40 channels total). However, one thing that seems inconvenient is viewing the IP cameras doesn't appear to be possible through the DVR using the IVMS-4500 software like the analog channels (?) The first IP camera we set up worked fine and shows up in our live view 6x6 grid as camera 33 just like the analog cameras, but in the IVMS software it's nowhere to be found - the list of cameras stops at 32. Is this normal behavior? Is there any way to make the DVR display the IP cameras through the IVMS software just like the analog cameras? We have a handful of people who use the app quite a bit and it's going to be a hassle to have to switch to and from different devices in the app rather than just have all the cameras on the DVR in one place. If anyone knows how to make the IP cameras behave like the analog cameras in IVMS I would love to hear it. Thanks!
