Using modem with GV

Hi all,

 

If I get an external modem from the list here to try and connect it to a GV system, do I need to pay to a dialup service provider or I just hook it up to extension from the regular house line?

 

I know that for the GSM module i do need to pay, what's with phone alerts?

you'd only pay for the phone call - since modem connection is analog.

 

however if you are planning to view video over modem connection don't be expectiong anything other than a slide-show.

I don't plan to connect the system with the modem, its already connected on a 6mb cable line. I only want to use the modem for alerts.

For the alerts, GeoVision has three kinds, email, hotline and SMS.

If you are using hotline alert, here are the specific external modem you need to use. Please check the follwing.

 

GeoVision product supports most of modem manufacturers, those modems (external modem only) use following chipsets:

2. Lucent chipset (external modem only)

 

The following models were also reported working well with GeoVision system.
