schwazche 0 Posted February 24, 2008 I've a GV-800 on 8.1.2 controlling 6 Pelco PTZ cameras perfectly. I'm able to use GView2 on my phone and love the system. Is it possible to add video from a USB Webcam on another PC so I can view the video live as I do with my Pelcos? I assume that I'd need a driver but have been unable to find anything. Thanks in advance!
501 0 Posted February 24, 2008 No, you can't integrate a webcam on another PC (Or the same PC for that matter) with Geovision as far as I know.
rory 0 Posted February 24, 2008 You would need to use a Video Server .. one that converts it to analog to place on the Geo card.
schwazche 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Thanks Gents, That's what I assumed, but I was hoping that I'd missed something. You'd think with IP support, that GeoVision could accept streaming video from any IP source. Again I appreciate your help. Wishful thinking though.
andy_geovision 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Dear Schwazche, With the latest version 8.2, you are able to GV IP camera or the third party cameras integrated with GeoVision 8.2 system. Then you should be able to view the cameras through the webcam servers. We have specific IP cameras for 8.2 such as Sony, panasonic or axis. For more information, please contact our support line for IP camera list. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Andy Chen Technical Support GeoVision.
