keefe007 0 Posted March 2, 2008 I'm looking to install an IP enabled alarm system at my office. The main feature I want is the ability to connect up over the network/internet and managed the system. I'd also like to be able to receive email alerts when the alarm is tripped. From what I can see, not too many alarm panels are IP enabled. The only one I've found so far is the Visconic wireless system. What other systems are out there? This can be wired or wireless. Thanks, Keefe

keefe007 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks for the reply. It looks like both of those charge a monthly fee for just accessing the web interface. Are there any that include it right on the hardware like the Visconic?
Lolo Wolf 0 Posted March 3, 2008 Next alarm has a no fee version of their monitor service with limitations.....the ABN is compatible with most alarm systems If you have a exisiting set up. The no-dispatch or full-dispatch is user defined by version, all have E-Notify. https://nextalarm.com/index.jsp
CollinR 0 Posted March 3, 2008 Elk also has a ethernet expander with integrated webserver, it's a whole lot of alarm though.
keefe007 0 Posted March 3, 2008 Elk also has a ethernet expander with integrated webserver, it's a whole lot of alarm though. I did check out the ELK and it does seem good. The web interface could really use some work in my opinion. It doesn't really compare to the Visconic, but I think the features are there. I wish the Elk wasn't java though. I'm going to look more into the ELK system. Cost-wise it doesn't seem like it'd be too much more expensive than the Visconic. I guess the main things I dont like about the Visconic is that it only allows for 2 hard-wired sensors and there's no traditional panel. The "panel" is integrated with a keypad and it just doesn't seem too commercial.
securitymonster 0 Posted March 3, 2008 We are an alarm.com dealer and its awesome. Yes there is a monthly service plan but that also pays for your cell phone data charges that it uses. You can do a whole lot more on the alarm.com than you can on the Visonic Powerlink adapter. Plus the powerlink is a bit expensive.

brankorackovic 0 Posted May 23, 2008 I think that, the best solution is PARADOX (made in CANADA), ex. SP5500, with IP modul IP100. With this you can access youre alarm system over internet. ip100 work with DDNS, encryption 128bit, you can alarm or disalarm, when the system disalarm you can get an e-mail or sms (if you have kids go to school, when they come back from school you will know when they come back), you can turn on or turn off PGM, and a lot of things. sory for my bad Englih.
